Re: Weekend football - 2/6 May 2024

Manure 3 nil down. I swear Euro qualification is gonna come down to our match at their's. They'll beat us. Find their mojo from nowhere. For "mojo" read "dodgy decisions". After all, they are fairly awful - yet seem to get an awful lot of help to keep them in a euro spot. They also currently have m...

One win and the sky pundits wanking over Chelsea, they’ll probably go and lose to West Ham at the weekend <laugh>

Re: Football Titbits

Even worse that it gives Solihull moors a bye. Pretty unpleasant club, really. I suppose that I'd like the winner of Halifax and Altrincham to go up now. All change. Altrincham have now been given the bye. Good. That foils a bit of an injustice. No doubt Solihull will do their usual trick of giving...

Re: Weekend football - 20/21 April 2024

Consider its options. <laugh> Well with luck, forest can do the job of a stalking horse allowing others to join in and say that enough is enough. It's all very well having an extra set of eyes, but when there is unconscious big-club bias with just a referee, there is now double big-club bias with t...

So that's all 7 London clubs beaten at SJP this season, that can't happen too often.
And they are still all staying up.

No idea how manure got a point from that. They were dog s*** yet again.
Quite a lot of badge-checking combined with some Bournemouth profligacy in front of goal.

Re: Football Titbits

Liverpool 3-0 down at home to Atalanta - lovely! As a merthyr town fan, so a bit of a closet atalanta fan as we played them in the cup winners cup that is a doubly smiley scoreline. Merthyr beat them 2-1 at home. Scousers so full of their own wonderfulness that they chose to rest players. It's just...

Re: Football Titbits

2 points per season is next to nothing. Wolves have lost 3 times that (probably more) just through var decisions.

And the Russians invading Ukraine doesn't seem much of an excuse. What next? Liz truss happened?

It gets reset at 32 games, so that's a big ask, particularly when you can pick up a yellow by accident very easily these days.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Blackburn Rovers

Well a cording to Murphy, it can't be a foul if you've still got control of the ball, so it couldn't have been a handball.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

Yeah onto the next one. Even at 2-0 felt like game over. Shows there's levels to being a title contender / CL regular (Pool, City, Arsenal) and then there's CL hopefuls (Villa, Spurs, Man United, us). We're nowhere near title contenders or CL regulars.. <awe> <gent> That's pretty much where I hoped...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Forest

Barnes needs to start next match. And please just **** off with Burn at LB. For all his dodginess as a full back when attacked with a bit of pace, he cleared out about 90% of those long throws that forest were chucking in, so much so that by the second half they weren't in the slightest bit worrying.

The bastards best player now with Crystal Palace, we have a decent chance to make the last 8.

Leeds or Leicester away would have been rather worrying.

While a Liverpool youth player absolutely destroys them. Looks a real player. Let’s just hope Man C win the league again. I don’t think there are enough sick bags in the world to contain the amount of vomit I’d spew if Klopp won the title in his last season. The media wankfest would be unbearable. ...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

The difference is not having players to come on and press by running around like headless chickens for the last 15-20 minutes off the ball while still having the talent/skill to be dangerous as a counter-attacking unit. That's been obvious for months. A second unit of Barnes - wilson - Murphy All mi...

Don't forget Shrewsbury v Wrexham is on telly on Sunday!
For some reason although I live in Cumbria my TV is tuned into S4C.
Amwythig v Wrecsam then. Big game for the north-east Wales region.
