Thoughts on Jack Wilshere?
Free agent - played for Howe at Bournemouth. He was levels above Championship when he played for Bournemouth last time out.
Current situation, I'd rather be playing Wilshere ahead of £25M worth of Joe Willock - caveat a 'match fit' Jack Wilshere.

Re: Saints Sack Manager
Have a few Southampton fans, and they've been wanting him gone for good few months. Been to see them few times this season, with mate who's had a spare season ticket. From a neutral and that I've seen on TV I'm seeing safe football, but players with no confidence at all to get going and do something...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 2/5 FEBRUARY 2018
Thing is with Watford is that they have one of the best scouting networks in the world for a club their size, what with Pozzo owning Udinese and Granada they've immediately got fantastic connections inside those markets. Not only do they get in fairly talented players that wouldn't look amiss in big...

Well yeah Poorly worded there! Point was more along the lines of it shouldn't be compared to men's football in a sporting sense, just because it is the same sport. If that makes sense..Colly wrote:It's definitely the same sport.

Re: Match thread - Palace v NUFC
Women's football is in vogue at the moment, and BBC and Guardian Football are very keen to 'shove that down people's throats'. Would hazard a guess to say that far more people are interested in NFL that women's football though. I have sum of zero interest in either sport so don't engage in any off ...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 2/5 FEBRUARY 2018
I was just laughing at Chelsea until I remembered it wasn't in our interest for Watford to win. Then I remembered they are playing the Baggies at the weekend. Return to form please Chelski. Same! Was impressed with Deulofeu, looked class. Amazingly looked like a Watford player playing for Barca, bu...

Classic Janmaat that! Decent going forward, but a little braindead at the back. Thought he could have done a bit better on that Hazard goal. Sort of went in and gave up to give Hazard space.
Total class though

Bakayoko
Every game I see him in he looks awful. Up there with Iwobi as one of the worst players consistently getting games for top 6.
No idea why Drinkwater doesn't get a game in there with Kante ahead of him.

Benítez plans ‘internal debate’ on Newcastle transfer window deficiencies
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/feb/04/rafael-benitez-plans-internal-debate-transfer-window-deficiencies Personally think the January window was marginally short of a total disaster, and what deals we did make late on have defiantly glossed over this fact and papered over huge cracks until...

Re: Match thread - Palace v NUFC
Really not sure what the answer is for Man United. Going direct really wouldn't be the answer, nor are we ever going to be any good at that approach. Valencia would eat any of our wingers for breakfast. Matic likewise with our midfield. Lukaku, the flat track bully he is, will do just that on Clark....

Re: Match thread - Palace v NUFC
First game I've been to this season, and it's even more clear in person that so many of our players are miles of being able to compete at this level. Would love to find positives in the game, but really can't. A match is played over 90mins, and it's futile playing well for parts or a half if you're ...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
Pairing the amount of winnable games remaining, with the amount of games Slimani can play in, people need to realign their expectations out of this signing. Whilst Joselu is s***, I honestly think the margins to be gained from putting Slimani in are quite slim. To the extent of the fee that we're p...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
Him being injured is quite a big factor surely, very much limiting the amount of games he can actually play in. (actually making the signing earlier wouldn't have solved that) Also factoring in that he won't be able to play against Leicester is also limiting the possibility for him to prove worthwhi...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
The Slimani signing isn't about long term value though, it's about keeping us up which is worth about £60m just for the first season and that's not factoring in a new TV deal. If it comes off it's an utter bargain, if we go down he goes back to Leicester. So go and get that deal done weeks ago, ins...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
Slimani is a much better striker than we could have signed on a permanent transfer. People saying the loan is a bad idea, what's the better alternative? Possibly make a sound investment in a player that can serve a greater value to the club over a period greater than 10 games. I can fully understan...

Re: Other Club's Business (January 2018)
West Ham director of recruitment is suspended for some idiotic race-based comments in which he repeatedly said he didn't want African players anymore. He says it's because of Diafro Satko complaining about not starting, which could be a good reason for wanting rid of him, but it's pretty stupid to ...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
All things considered, I don't think we did too badly and we've certainly had worse transfer windows. Going to play devil's advocate here and don't think loan signings are a particularly bad thing for our current situation. There's so much uncertainty surrounding the club's future and the market is...
