the nw has a bridge in it
More than one. My point was, I'm not from Newcastle, and I don't get why the (Tyne?) bridge is such a massive thing, personally.
Because if it were any smaller we'd all fall in the river.

I don’t recognise any of those place names I’m afraid!
No worries! I'm hoping some of the Northumbrians on here might have some ideas.

Re: Pavel's eBar

Can anybody recommend either a campsite or a pub with a bedroom along the Coquet between Rothbury and Warkworth? I'm doing a coast-to-coast solo hike in the summer from Maryport to Lindisfarne so I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a place to kip for the night. Google Maps isn't spitting too mu...

Re: Coronavirus

Suppose the scenario in which there is no vaccine. How long would it take before we began to draw this conclusion, or at least to accept that it could be decades? Then what happens next? What do we think 'learning to live with' this virus would look like exactly? How could or should we adapt?

Re: Pavel's eBar

Bit of a random one, but did we ever find out if that German Pardew superfan was Skalps? Total coincidence that I was away at the time. I'll let you decide on whether or not that first sentence is sarcastic <roll>. It wasn't me. No idea who it was, and I missed the whole thing because iirc I was aw...

Re: Toon Takeover Thread

I always figured a do-gooder is an idealist who believes they can make a difference to a huge cause, when in fact the only difference they make is the introduction of minor irritation to people nearby. So by calling someone a do-gooder, you aren't necessarily dismissing their cause, but you are sayi...

Re: The Most Embarrassing Moment of Your Life

You don't know any of us - get telling. I hope not... A couple of weeks ago, my flatmate's boyfriend and his mates came up and we went on a night out, where I was bought drinks for the entire night. After drinking an obscene amount we went through the park to get home and I went to bed. After a few...

Bumping this for anyone who is bored and needs to read some ridiculous stories. A particular favourite of mine appears early on and features our esteemed founder dancing to 'Blue' by Eiffel 65 in front of his school. Rumour has it he still busts those moves out at parties. <laugh> <laugh> you basta...

Re: Toon Takeover Thread

A Saudi Arabian government owned news channel has emailed asking if anyone wants to be interviewed about Ashley selling the club to Saudis... On TV? You should go for it. Wear a t-shirt with toonforum.co.uk on it and plug plug plug. Or else put them in touch with Donkey Toon so we get to witness th...

I honestly don't know of many NUFC forums, the ones I have seen have been as quiet as here, last fairly busy place was Not606 and even that wasnt as busy other clubs forums. This was busy a few years back, certainly busier than any other NUFC forum I've seen. This. The first couple of years were ve...

Just imagine, you could drive around in a fiesta and be a god to these people! Not like the cops could stop you, just drive away as they wave angrily at you from their bicycles. <laugh> It doesn't even have a full-time cop. There is a part-time special constable ... who is also the gaoler and plumb...

Bring back the horse and cart. <laugh> You should move to one of the islands that is part of Guernsey then. Cars, motorbikes etc are banned on Sark. Everybody gets around on bicycles, horse and cart or under special licence tractor (only issued if you need it for farming or business transportation)...
