Re: Pavel's eBar

Had my graduation ceremony yesterday morning. It was alright, had to get up earlier than if I had to go to work and spent hours walking around and queueing for various things. All for a handshake and walk down an aisle. Also a day behind with work so need to spend my day today planning lessons for n...

Re: The Message of Hate Thread

We've not had any hate in 2024... People at the gym who don't put their weights away. Someone had been deadlifting >200kg and just left the bar with all the weight at the end - w*****! Probably the same assholes who sit in their car eating a McDonald's and just throw the rubbish out the window. I'd...

Re: The Message of Awe Thread

12 years on here is crazy. I was incredibly active in the early years, then life changed and I barely got on here. Now I've got a degree and a real job and visit pretty regularly again <awe>

Re: Pavel's eBar

So I've recently had to go back to my old job as it pays better than the one I left it for, cos money is tight. Got a bit of a conundrum between cash and fun, do I; Work (all week then) Saturday day for extra overtime cash and go out on Sunday with pals Work (Mon-Thu then) Fri/sat/sun night overtim...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

We can but we won't. He's terrible. When we were awful he was average, he loved a slide tackle but offered nothing in possession. If you're a holding midfielder and your main skill is tackling, you're not a very good holding midfielder. The good players in that role are the players who cut off pass...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

Just feels like we (fans) have been looking for excuses for 3 months. Whatever the current plan is, it is clearly not working and something needs to change. 1 league win from 7 and being rock bottom of the form table is simply not good enough, especially when you factor in some of the opposition we...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

If Hayden returns from loan can we fit him in the squad? We can but we won't. He's terrible. When we were awful he was average, he loved a slide tackle but offered nothing in possession. 0 offensive gamechangers on our bench still. I'm sure this will go well.

Re: Holidays

Was reminded today that I've 12 days of holiday to take before the end of March so I've booked off every Friday and now have three months of 4 day weeks! Had queried about carrying some over into next year but after the COVID carry over they've put a stop to that. One colleague had 43 holiday days ...

Re: Howe under pressure?

This. It is important, partly because of who it is against but also I think the FA Cup is a great chance for us this season now. No real other distractions so I hope we turn up. If we do lose it will be frustrating, but more so because it means our season is effectively over. This. FA Cup only hope...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

Wilson is a strange situation. Unless I'm forgetting someone (which is quite likely), no club in the PL has 3 established strikers. So although plenty of our fans are saying it is important to sign a striker, unless we sell Wilson it just isn't viable. We are just missing a youngster. Having Isak p...

Re: Howe under pressure?

I just hope we beat Sunderland for the sake of the reactive fans. A cup run again and a mid table finish would be more than fine for this season. It will be end of days for some if we lose that <laugh> This. It is important, partly because of who it is against but also I think the FA Cup is a great...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

If the clause is that easily achievable, so in essence is a perm move, then it kind of rules out the theory that he's getting minimal % of minutes to avoid activating a clause, similar to Athletico with Griezmann a bit ago. Would more stoke the fires that Howe/coaching team simply don't rate Hall a...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

Rumour that the the obligation for Hall is that we avoid relegation. Doubt it would be that simple Think it is. Only reason it's a loan is to help with FFP because we couldn't afford the outright fee in August. Chelsea wouldn't let a talented teenager go if it was only a maybe to be a permanent deal.

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

Not the worst option going forward, but I imagine it'd be a loan. If I remember the rules correctly only allowed two loans domestically, obviously Hall being one of them. So bringing in another loan left back would tie up our loan options considerably. No Phillips, for example. West Ham had a simil...
