Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
Pairing the amount of winnable games remaining, with the amount of games Slimani can play in, people need to realign their expectations out of this signing. Whilst Joselu is s***, I honestly think the margins to be gained from putting Slimani in are quite slim. To the extent of the fee that we're pa...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
I'm more than happy to be proved wrong by Slimani, and every other person who cares to remember this, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say he's going to be marginally less s*** than Joselu. Been hearing and reading about this deal all day, and it's baffled me that nobody has questioned his...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
We're likely to have fronted a portion of Krul's remaining contract to allow him to leave to Brighton. We're no doubt still responsible for a part of Sels contract in his loan deal. We've Elliot, Darlow and Woodman. So come tomorrow we're going to have six goalkeepers on a wage bill, seven if you c...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
Is Slimani actually any good? Seen him a couple of times in games, but can't say I can remember much of him. https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/112239-slimani/ Leicester fans have mixed opinions of him, with a fair few saying across a decent period he's fairly garbage. Think the fan's valuation of h...

Re: Match thread - NUFC v Burnley
Our home form has not been anywhere near good enough and it's going to take us down at this rate. For all the talk of a lack of quality, the negative tactics and poor team selections have contributed to it massively. If we go down, it's on the manager as much as anyone. Completely agree. We're by s...

Re: Match thread - NUFC v Burnley
Absolutely nothing endears me to this club anymore. Watching games has honestly become a chore. It just hit me after they equalised, that something has finally beaten all the emotion, all the hope, enjoyment and pride out of supporting this club. Once it went 1-1, I had no emotion, no frustration th...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
Pictures of him arriving in the city train station are becoming a news story on their own. <erk> He's done bollock all since he's been at Chelsea. His agent basically got him a prime contract in Europe, and he's riding that out until he can find the next stage of his career. He's got nowhere near be...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
Have seen Andre Schürrle linked would be a great signing, albeit as far as I remember he moved back to Germany because his missus din't really like London...I'd say she'd love Tyneside so The thing is... Newcastle is actually a great place to live. It's not hustle and bustle. There's loads of weird...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2018)
Not sure in what world we would be signing Gameiro. May well be some interest there, but there are bound to be a few other clubs around Europe after him, and just can't see Chanley/Bishop/whoever doing enough to get him here when it comes to contract we'd be offering him, against other choices. Coul...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 19/22 JANUARY 2018
Can see Swansea closing the gap come 30 game mark if they can add to their squad and continue to approach games like that. Haven't watched them since Carvalhal came in, but seems to have lifted quite a few players on that showing. So frustrating that we've just not turned up in so many games against...

Re: Other Club's Business (January 2018)
Football's transfer market 'bubble' is sure to burst, likely by the summer coming. There will be a Bosman marking, and I think the Neymar deal has become that in terms of X millions paid. Clubs at the lower end will stop playing ball to fees demanded, and the whole pyramid will crash. So becomes age...

Re: Other Club's Business (January 2018)
I think that there is going to become a regression to the mean when it comes to the bulk of transfers of players, in terms of the average lot. I'd say the headline deals are going to continue to happen, and fees will rise, but the players that nobody really wants/could do a job - their market value ...

Re: Weekend football 30-31 Dec
Diving has been around for decades. Sapporo 2002, Owen dived to win a penalty against Pocchetino. Beckham scores the penalty to win against Argentina 1-0. The same pundits that we're lauding the victory then are condemning diving now. Television cameras, and 24 hour news, especially upon PL coverage...

Re: Other Club's Business (January 2018)
Theoretically VVD should improve their team. However they've signed Lovren, Matip and Klavan and none of them have been the answer. Think VVD will struggle, the biggest problem is a lack of cover from the midfield and having a new CB(especially one that's struggled this season) won't change that. I...
