i am a liverpool fan who has followed rafa benitez ever since he joined us from valancia.
To begin with, you have got one of the best tactical coaches of all time congratulations!
But,i think its way too late to appoint him, having watched today's game, i can see a bit of his philosophy, but to be honest Newcastle players are piss poor ,could go on to say one of the worst in premier league right now, and if rafa gets to the next season he could well completely overhaul the whole squad given the funds...i think whatsoever Rafa does with the small time he is getting, Newcastle will be relegated which i would hate to see, everything seems against to guys right now....players way too poor to install a new philosophy quickly and unfortunately the point gap ...your schedule...pray you make to the next season and rafa would surely bring you to top 10 next season and then to top 6 the season after that

We look much better with Townsend in the squad. Im also hoping Chancel and Lascelles make a great CB pairing

My jury is still out on Townsend.

pretty much what i was thinking too... need to keep these 2 playing week in week out, but would they sideline our captain to make way, big decision

Over the course of the last 2 games we've conceded a goal a game that has to be seen as a positive.
Mitrovic scores as he's in the box looking to get on the end of something and a ball put onto his head inch perfect, we looked more positive 2nd half because we had more people getting into advanced area's more bodies into the box rather than just 1 person.
When the Norwich game comes round we'll have a few more players hopefully fit by then i.e. Mbabu, Colo, Dummett, Taylor and Cisse and SDJ the more options the better, lets hope no one comes back from Int. Duty injured.

De Jong made the biggest difference today for me, added some much needed composure in the middle and his vision and touch (albeit a tad rusty) are impressive .. need him fit and playing - I'd push Perez out wide and drop Sissoko to accommodate him ..

I would say so, there's not much to say we'll stay up, or even get another win.

You can write off all of our away games, so the only chance is to win are remaining home games, and based upon today isn't looking likely.

Thought we were atrocious first half so I'll take a point but both of us are going down after that though, absolutely disgusting game of football.

First time I've gone mental when we've scored in about 3 years.

Spurs completely conned us with Townsend. Decision making was awful. He needs an open game rather than a game where the opposition get 10 men in their box.

I thought he was ok, looked quite rusty but was our decent player in the first half. Faded badly in the second half though.

Townsend was the only one to beat his man and put a few decent crosses into the box fs <laugh>

Plus he had a decent shot too.
