Also I know he'll be way above our budget but Mateo Kovacic has stated he wants to leave Real Madrid as wants more game time, now if Real would allow him to leave on loan he might be of interest to Rafa as they had a good relationship when he was there

Oh I really doubt he will join us but given he is only 24 and Real signed him to eventually replace Modric they want to keep him in some capacity hence a loan move would be more likelyOl' Dirty Bas Dost wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 6:01 pmGood call on Kovacic, hope it happens tho not holding my breathlblancsson wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 12:04 pmValon berisha linked again.

We won't get him, that said, they're linked with everyone, and only so many players can go there.El Magdia wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 6:40 pmSpurs and Man U interested. We have no chance.Ol' Dirty Bas Dost wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 6:01 pm

Gossip linking Ritchie with Bournemouth as part of a King deal. I think we'd really miss him if he left.

He was pretty poor for the first 60-70% of the season. Can't see him really improving much as he gets older either. I do like him but I don't think it's absolutely crucial that we keep him.Blještav Benny wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 9:32 amGossip linking Ritchie with Bournemouth as part of a King deal. Tbh, I feel like he is just holding up the spot for a right footed winger.Blještav Benny wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 9:32 amGossip linking Ritchie with Bournemouth as part of a King deal. I think we'd really miss him if he left.
He does have some quality in terms of workrate and his left foot, but he lacks pace and flair and that is something we lack all over.
I might have tinted norwegian glasses though

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2018)
I feel like Ritchie takes some unfair heat for last season. When we had that relatively brief run of form in the fall he was the only one creating any of our goals, usually from set pieces. He was tied for the most assists, averaged the most key passes and crosses per game, the most clearances of all midfielders and forwards, etc. He may not have always been the most consistent (nobody bar maybe Jamaal and Kenedy were), but over the course of the season he produced more than anyone else from his position, so I think it's a bit of bad perception. Doesn't mean we couldn't improve upon him, but I think our Championship season and last year would have gone worse without him.

He's also covering Yedlin who defensively isn't the best.

If we are wanting to progress from this point then it's inevitable that players like Ritchie will need to be moved on, there is only a handful of players that are top 8/6 quality imo. I'd say our spine is Dubravka, Lascelles, Lejeune, Shelvey, everyone else is probably replaceable if we are ever to have ambitions of top 6.

Replacement in first before we shift one of our key players.

We don't have a chance of top 6 without serious, sustained investment. Even then it's very unlikely.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 3:48 pmIf we are wanting to progress from this point then it's inevitable that players like Ritchie will need to be moved on, there is only a handful of players that are top 8/6 quality imo. I agree with that, I just think he received too much criticism last season. We have so little depth at every position but GK, I just think we should be replacing the players at the bottom of the depth chart, not the top.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 3:48 pmIf we are wanting to progress from this point then it's inevitable that players like Ritchie will need to be moved on, there is only a handful of players that are top 8/6 quality imo. May as well delete this f***ing thread . Another inevitable summer of abject disappointment . Someone needs to bump fatty off. No joke.

Tbf there's very little movement anywhere at the moment. Wolves have signed a couple, Cardiff have signed someone today but that's about it. If everyone around us had 3 or 4 players through the door and we were still without a signing I'd be blaming the club, but the market is eerily quiet.
Think the World Cup and the sheer lack of value in the market means we'll not see much movement until the end of the window when prices drop and everyone is back with their clubs.
(Not that I'm hugely optimistic we'll sign what we need).

Have heard rumours that we have signed another player currently at the world cup, similar to Ki we are waiting for him to do a medical after his country are out. I won't say who but he plays for internationally but he plays in Germany
