Movies that have come closest to making you cry?

Post by Lord Porpington » Fri Sep 06, 2013 6:40 pm

I'm not an emotional person. But The Green Mile is just such an epic movie.

When John Cofee is getting executed and all the men are crying, I couldn't help but feel something that a movie hasn't made me do before. Shed a tear.

Sad movies appeal to me because I'm a miserable bastard, but It's usually just an introverted feeling I experience. I never really cry. But the Green Mile was the closest I've got to tearing up.

P.S. I'm all for a bit of crack, but lets have some serious answers also <awe>

First time I cried at a movie was in Castaway when he lost Wilson <grim>
Like a seahorse in the night, he rides with haste to his beloved's domain.

He is the silent guardian, the practical idealist, the man of peace prepared for war.

He is a Mackem.

Both the book and the film; 'Farewell to Arms', that ending has emotional punch!

I was going to say that!

I've only cried twice in the past 5 years or so, when my nan died and when my dog was put to sleep. That film brought me close to tears! No other film has.

The Bucket List and Wreck It Ralph were the last two to have me in a proper state.

Green Mile for sure.

I watched Marley and Me on Saturday and teared up infront of my girlfriend. <grim>

I've never felt moved to tears when watching a film.

I've wanted to gouge my eyes out a few times but then decided to never watch an Adam Sandler movie again.
