Enjoyed a Dailuine 16 year old while I was in Edinburgh. Was 'Managers choice'. It was scrumptious. And finished off my trip with a 12 year old Laphroaig.

Whisky definitely tastes better in Scotland.
Definitely hits differently! I'd love to get a remote cabin in the Scottish Highlands, roaring fire, decent bottle of whisky, no other f***er for miles around. Bliss.
Sounds like my perfect getaway too tbf!

Just opened a bottle of Cotswolds Single Malt Bourbon Cask that I got for Christmas.

Harsh at first, then turns super smooth then a lovely warm finish.

Enjoy! I’ve had that before but not for a while.

I’m on dalwhinnie winters gold which my mum gave me as she wasn’t a fan. It’s pretty middle of the road but drinkable <cheers>

Toiling a bit just now reconciling our current form and getting some headspace sorted to chill.
So, on that note I’m enjoying a very local number, an Auchentoshen, American oak single malt. Previously recommended I think 🤔
It’s lovely and the name kinda helps me reconcile our current toshen form

Nice! Love it when a recommendation pops up on here!

Finally cracked open the Fettercairn in earnest earlier and my that’s a nice wholesome drop. Bought almost a year ago after a sample tasting and now it’s in my cross hairs.
It’s lovely on a chilly dark Scottish evening

Got my mum a bottle or Dalmore 15 years old for her 60th and it arrived today…colour looks <awe>

Can’t wait for her to share it with me <diva>

I would upload a picture but despite being a member here for 11 years I’ve no idea how to add a picture <laugh>

How s*** is Haig Club? Got a bottle for Xmas and it’s like drinking water - absolutely nothing to it. I’d say it’s a good whisky for people who don’t like whisky, or suitably bland to be mixed into a cocktail.

Celebrity endorsed s****.
Never had it because I assumed this is what it would be like. Thank you for confirming!
Definitely save your money, you can get a better ALDI single malt for about £15!

I think my Achilles heel is the Beerwulf beer blade !
Far far far toooo convenient.
In my defence once you crack a keg it’s to be consumed within 30 days.

Unfortunately a lifelong condition but nothing that should kill me so could be worse!

I generally drink Fri/Sat/Sun and nothing in the week, like a lot of people I guess. Not to excess, a couple of beers and a whisky each night I was drinking generally.

I think December you can just do whatever you want ha!

It’s that time of year when I go all nostalgic and start on my whisky minded buying frenzy.
Just bought a Fettercairn 12 yo after being persuaded after some tasting chatter in the whisky shop …..
A lovely drop
<gent>

I’m on a bit of a booze break mainly due to health issues. 51 days dry as of today but definitely going to enjoy a drink or two over Xmas!
Hope that’s nowt too serious and simply improving your body housekeeping.
I would undoubtedly say I drink way too much ( binge type style around weekends ) as opposed to every day , but that leads to probably twice recommended weekly limits etc etc.
Tried sober October , couldn’t do it !!
Don’t know what that says about me but during the early festive shopping today I found a tavern and had a pint , that made me feel better, but also loosened the wallet to a degree 🤔

Got a bottle of Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair recently and I'm going through it too quickly! Absolutely beautiful.
Some decent reviews, seems reasonably priced too <notbad>
Aye it's the bollocks - not as good as the 12 though.

Worth getting a bottle <ok>. I'm normally really into my peaty whiskies (Laphroaig is probably my favourite) so it was a surprise to get something that isn't peaty at all from Islay.
