I was referring to Haidara, not Sissoko.

Also, Sissoko has been poor for nearly 2 years.. I hope his recent revival lasts but I'm not expecting him to.
My mistake!

If he manages to do that on a consistent basis, then I'm all for him. However, this was a rare performance which showed his true potential. Unfortunately, the vast majority of time he under-performs.

He really needs to show that he can keep it up and continue to put in the same amount of effort on a regular basis.

When he first started out for us, I'm sure his crossing was actually quite good.. no idea what's happened to him.

That's it as far as I'm concerned. 3 signings away from a complete squad
Everyone says this, yet I've not seen any evidence of this so far this season. He's just s****. So's Dummett.
Yea I have to agree that Haidara really isn't that good attacking wise. His crosses are ok, but there's 5 sh*t ones for every good one. He hasn't got the footballing brain like Janmaat has that gets him into the box so often.

I agree with Colly too that Sissoko is looking better out wide then in the middle. His crossing is actually decent, and though we like the idea of his marauding runs up the field, this is way better suited out wide where there's more space for him. Think Ashley Cole <awe>

Dr Hong is the best nickname for any player ever.

He's said to then swap with Sissoko, though given Sissoko has looked an absolute liability every time he's played in the midfield two it's still a bad idea.

I think our current shape works reasonably well, Perez plays in that Dr Hong/Cabaye-ish position anyway, Wijnaldum has freedom to get about and it seems to have revitalised Sissoko a bit. Still some shaky bits where the wingers aren't covering full backs properly, but it's not a major shift so that should settle.

New DM - Anita/Colback

Sissoko

Ayoze - Mitrovic - Wijanldum
Or De Jong/Thauvin in for Anita/Colback and swap them with Sissoko. But probably not because one is a crock and the other is s***.

If we signed a new CM/DM we could move Sissoko inside and let him occupy that space between the opposition midfield at defence, where he's at his best, then play a front three of Wijnaldum, Ayoze and Mitrovic. Plenty of running and tracking back in both Ayoze and Mitrovic as we've seen. Then a choice between De Jong, Colback, Anita and Thauvin for the last midfield space.
i really don't know how that's working

So a 4-3-3?

He's just signed for Marseille a few months back. There's very little chance of him making the move to us so soon and he's already 30. 31 in March.

Someone who could properly protect our back four during offensive as Tiote used to do on his days. Vainqueur at the time he was avaible would have been a perfect choice, but now he's gone to Roma for only 6 milions and is doing a decent job, this truly breaks my heart. Maybe Gonalons but would be too expensive or even Lassana Diarra.

That would leave us with

---------Perez---Mitrovic
Wijnaldum-------------Sissoko
----S.de Jong----L.Diarra
Willems-Matip---Memba-Daryl
------------Krul--------------

That would be the best Newcastle's team I've seen for years.

(please, I'm still learning english, if you had the kindness to tell me where my mistakes are it would be very appreciable :) !!)

tkx
Your english is pretty good, I'm more worried about you wanting Siem De Jong to play CDM <scratch>
Thanks :)

Actually, Siem de Jong would of course not play CDM. People are rightly complaining about the lack of creativity in our midfield while we have de Jong in our team. With someone like Vainqueur, Diarra, or Gonalons, he'd have a lot of freedom in the midfield and could give us easily the creativity we are currently lacking.

That's why I think a creative CM should clearly not be a priority. The man we are missing in that team is someone who covers the midflied ; colback, tiote(not anymore) and Anita CAN'T do that.

Well, even if you think de Jong's not good enough for that role, we could still line up like this :

--------Perez---Mitrovic
Aarons-------------------Sissoko
----Wijnaldum---L.Diarra
Willems-Matip---Memba-Daryl
------------Krul--------------

EDIT : Diarra is even better than the player he was 5 years ago. What a f***ing beast! Recently called up for french team, and EVERY single french wants him at this position for the euro (not sure about that sentence <awe> ). I can tell you that this man is carrying Marseille ALONE.

And f*** the transfer policy, it hasn't worked in 5 years, let's change that!!

PS : he are some french article about him

"Diarra is already making "les bleus" better"
