It wasn't a bad team by any stretch, but they'd just finished 3rd, 18 points behind Real and 10 points behind Villareal. That summer they moved on Ronaldinho, Deco, Zambrotta and Thuram(retired). He brought in a young Pique, Dani Alves and he promoted Busquets and Pedro from the B Team.
For sure, but his entire career was interwoven into the fabric of that club. Yes Arteta played for Arsenal for 6 years, but I doubt he's got that tacit knowledge of the club that Pep had at Barcelona.
I hope he does well as it's good to see things getting freshened up, I just think that it's a big ask.
