Yeah was impressed by him. Clever running once he clicks with Rondon we'll be in for some excitement
This. Looks like a willing runner with good pace and technical ability. Him, Rondon and Perez have to be our starting trio there all Spanish speaking too so makes it easier to communicate and understand each others game.
New three amigos. <love>

Looking forward to seeing him start and then get injured after 27 minutes vs Huddersfield.

Yeah he was clearly eager to impress! A couple of weeks training with the team and I think we have to start him v Huddersfield. Atsu really does offer very little.

Though Almiron looked promising when he came on last night. Knew he was fast but didn't realise he was that fast! Always looking for the run forward which I think our other players are going to have to get used to, defensively he was great, really mucked in and even threw his head at the ball whilst on the ground, he's gonna be exciting to watch.

Also worth noting how many English players struggle with just the thought of going north of the M25 <laugh>
Fixed <ok>

That's all good, but settling into a completely new country and culture on the other side of the world takes a bit more than just having a few people who speak your language. He may very well settle straight away and that will be great, but equally he might need time (something our fans never give players).
Oh I 100% agree , we have a young Danish lad a my club despite speaking Norwegian fluently still struggles a little.

I just hope Gavin Harris doesn't corrupt him with his boozy ways.

Whatever happens hopefully our fans realise for once that moving to a new continent is a massive f***ing change and it will take time for him to settle and sort everything in your life out (football is only football). Any of us moving to the USA would take time to get used to new cultures and being away from everyone that we know.
Having anotger S American in Rondon playing alongside him will help settle quickly hopefully.
Be great if he could play at next home match - and get or assist in a goal.

Also the fact that there are a few other Spanish speakers in Fenandez , Perez , Manquillo will help him settle in
Newcastle also have a Spanish speaking Player Liaison Officer and of course the coaching team. Almiron does speak decent enough English so I'm told and can definitely understand it, so I don't see much issues on that side of things.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned...

Been watching some youtube clips of him. There's no doubt he's technically excellent. Two footed, can pick a pass, score from outside the box etc. But from what I've seen the MLS Is like playing FIFA on easy mode. There's just nobody really closing him down. Think it might be a baptism of fire for him when he starts his first match in the Prem. I really hope he has a cracking first game though and prove me wrong!
He's played numerous games in Paraguay and Argentina which should bode well for him. They kick the **** out of you in those leagues.
Because of his visa stuff meaning he hasn't been able to play yet, the club should've just sent him up to Glasgow on a weekend. That'd toughen him him.

Attaching fame to numbers is pathetic like <laugh>
Especially seeing as people also get up in arms when players don't use the number of the position they play. I'm sure every club can name some legend for each of the numbers/positions. Everyone makes such a big deal about the Newcastle 9, but it's not exactly special, I imagine most club's most famous players are strikers who wore that number.
