This Henderson/Rice partnership needs to stop. So negative.
Winks to the rescue...
Plays the DM role in a 5-2-3 better than both Henderson and Rice but you need to play Mount or another forward thinking player alongside him. Has to be one of Winks or Henderson, Rice nowhere near good enough.

Play 433

Win nations league group against Spain and Croatia

Steamroll Euro 2020 qualification winning and scoring at least 4 goals in all but one game

Decide to switch to 343

Score one goal from open play in 5 games

Finish below Denmark, losing and drawing to them without scoring once

Southgate is a football genius.

Ahhh maybe the myth that Southgate had made England a good team might subside a bit. They’re bang average and given the players at their disposal there is literally a hundred managers who could do what Southgate has done.

Honestly wouldn’t want Southgate in charge of us.
Nah, Southgate is w*** and allergic to creativity. Plays a back 7 to make us 'defensively sound,' but we're losing 2-0. Simultaneously negating the real strength of the squad in its attack
Yep. Once upon a time you had to have shown your credentials as a coach to get a top international job but not the case now it seems. Southgate is still dining out on a WC semifinal where he lost to Belgium twice and to Croatia on the road to. Couldn’t even beat Columbia in 90 mins (or ET) and staggers from turgid display to turgid display. I can’t think of a single team currently in the top half of the PL who would consider him as their next manager. At a stretch maybe villa just because he’s a former player.

Bruce doesn’t do tactics but he should tell ASM and Wilson to run at Maguire whenever they get the chance.
Don't be silly. Get Carroll to go 1 v 1 with Maguire and have Wilson running at AWB. ASM on the bench. Prime Bruceball.

Maguire could have got a straight red for either one of those tackles. Absolute madness diving in, I'd be annoyed with a Sunday League CB doing that in that area of the pitch.
Also ridiculous that Roy Keane went in on Southgate for not patting Maguire on the back as he went down the tunnel. He's a big boy and thinks himself a captain, if he needs a hug to get over it he can ask one from his missus. Roy would just as likely of given him a literal kick up the ass if he were manager.
Sometimes a pat on the back is needed but he's let the team down with bad decisions and stupid tackles. It wasn't like it was an unlucky thing, it was like he wanted to be sent off.

Great to see James getting sent off for swearing at the ref. Should happen more often, the lack of respect that players show officials is ridiculous. If 5 people get sent off per game then so be it, they’ll soon learn. Much as I’ve wanted to I’ve never shouted f*** off at one of my colleagues or bosses, players are grownups (on paper at least) so should be able to stop themselves swearing.
Agreed. Unfortunately though it means TAA will be playing RB again.

Not managed to watch the other England games due to work, but was off last night and looking forward to the Denmark game. Got myself a takeaway and a couple of beers, and a little bit giddy. Ended up going bed early, load of s****.
