Martinelli, Saka and Ramsdale all return for me - I’ll enjoy it tonight before the inevitable points haul for Salah tomorrow for every man and his dog <laugh>

Any late news on this?
Conte was pretty vague in his press conference, I would imagine he starts based on playing ~75 mins in their last warmup against Roma but I wouldn’t be surprised if got pulled short of 60 mins either
Cheers. Think I'll keep him as likely to be a long term hold even if his minutes are managed early on.

I chickened out of my Sterling punt and shaved money from half the team to work Haaland in, week 2 against Bournemouth without him or KDB just seems too risky

Sterling > Mount
Saka > Martinelli
Neto > Bailey
Perisic > Neco Williams
Ramsdale > the other Leicester keeper

Definitely the most template I’ve ever started but there’s plenty of time to be different once we have more info

<laugh> Bruno is so cheap. Half of De Bruyne, and right now I'm not sure who I would pick IRL <laugh>

I've got the 2x £4m Leicester keepers at the moment, need to decide if I'm running with that and the extra money outfield or being a bit more sensible in case they do sign Dubravka or another starter keeper before the end of the window...

Sterling is worth a punt for sure. I’m going Kane captain v Southampton as you’d fancy him to score and KDB GW2 against Bournemouth.

going into the season feeling very confiden with the boys

keepers - sa, sanchez
def - tomi, james, cancelo, cash, targett
mid - zaha, salah, son, bruno, baily
attack - darwin, mitro, greenwood

I usually try to be too different at the start and dig myself a hole, so only taking one punt this year - it’s just so easy to load up on the top 5 teams and they all have a good run to start:

Ramsdale (Ward)
TAA Cancelo Robbo James Perisic
Salah Sterling Saka Neto (Pereira)
Jesus (Archer Plange)

It looks like Salah will be my preferred captain for most of the first 7 or 8 weeks so I don’t think Kane/Haaland offer enough value, Chelsea have a great run of fixtures so I’m hoping Sterling can hit the ground running

Less stats = people pick teams that they actually like and want to have. When you're overloaded with stats I find it much less fun and people are just picking based on maths. Which is fine to those who are into data, but it's not for me.
Fair enough. Don't get me wrong, I've been doing FPL for probably like 15 years - so none of it comes as surprise. It's just so far removed from fantasy sports here, with my most extreme example being a 12 team baseball league with 25+ roster spots, including prospects, where we can keep 24 players from season to season. So when you're selecting around the margins of the 300th best player in a league, stats are critical.

It's bizarre to me that the UI has always hardly show any stats for the players, aside from the bizarre custom indexed scores assigned to creativity, etc. As a North American sports fan, it's insane the difference between the depth of statistics commonly used for hockey, baseball, basketball, etc. vs. football.

My trouble is my work league is very very competitive, so sometimes I need to be boring and go with the popular picks 😂.

I'm thinking of rotating between Kane and Haaland up top, I'm still unsure if Haaland will be immune to Pep roulette too.
Yeah, unfortunately that's what happens.

The game would be much better if they got rid of the 'effective ownership' stats as that's what drives so many picks and people get FOMO. It would also be better if you could only see a few players from other peoples teams and the rest were greyed out to stop copy cat moves (e.g. if you clicked on a colleagues team you'd only see maybe 1 or 2 players from each position.

Both would introduce far more variety into the game, which would be a good thing.

I'm currently going (starting XI):

Ramsdale
Robertson
Trippier
Walker
Perisic
Martinelli
Saka
KDB
Kane (c)
Wilson
Nunez

Bench: Ward (GK), Bailey, Eze, N Williams

Every season I try to steer clear of the obvious options, especially when the family league I'm in tends to all devolve into the same rosters (they're all Liverpool fans). But I definitely don't follow twitter or FPL content, and this season I decided to just start with the players I wanted and not try and get too cute. Maybe I'll actually do better then.

Anyone going with Haaland from the start. The community shield game added to my fears that he might start really slow, no doubt he's going to be a force at some point, just unsure if straight away. Don't wanna be stuck without him though when everyone else has him <laugh>
It's my obligation as a Norwegian <whistle>

Definitely. As soon as content creators / Twitter accounts start talking about a player everyone leaps on.
