Re: Match day thread - West Ham United v Newcastle United

All in all I'd say I was fairly happy with that. Hard to tell if we looked good or west ham looked crap. A few more he's and we will have a better idea. New signings looked legit though. They were pretty crap, but I appreciated our intent. We went out wanting to win the match and set up to attack -...

Re: Match day thread - West Ham United v Newcastle United

At least we're getting players forward. West Ham are ripe for the picking and at least it looks like we went there looking to win.

Re: Florian LeJeune on loan to Alaves

I'm also willing to forget how back Schar was in the summer. He'd missed a lot of time last season, like everyone was coming back from hiatus, played a lot of it out of position. Hopefully with a fresh season and some better health we can see more of what he offered in 2018-19 - which was a lot larg...

Re: The Callum Wilson Thread

This exactly what I'm thinking. Except I'll have a different bench.. Gillespie Dummet Yedlin/Kraft S.Longstaff Ritchie Fraser Carroll Ritchie is down as doubtful due to injury (or potential move) which is why I went for Murphy. I went just for Dummet in defence as he can cover CB and lb. Hayden can...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)

Great news on Hayden, if any of our fans watch him regularly and don't rate him they need their heads examining. I'm glad we have him, certainly nobody else in the squad can serve as a CDM, and I'll give him credit for improving his tackling and discipline last season. But I still think he needs to...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)

https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1304073758475538432?s=19 Apparently this guy was spot on with Rogerio, but Norwich accepting the lewis bid scuppered the move. So this is pretty interesting. Wouldn't make sense though.. we already have too many CM's unless we selling Hayden/Shelvey I don't...

Re: PIF Takeover Officially Rejected by PL

Do people really think we are that important to KSA, that the government is going to be sat there saying hell forget all the other s*** we have to do like running a country! Tell us what right back Brucie would like us to buy! The Bin Salman obsession was stupid, but id guess only a very small mino...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)

It seems to just be me, but I don't think Dummett is actually a (good) CB. Though for years I thought he'd be a better fit there than LB. But he's just awful in the air, and especially in a back 4 that faces as much pressure as we do, I really wouldn't want to see him become our 4th choice CB. He an...

Re: Done Deal: Jamal Lewis

Yeah him and Max(?) Aarons both got some good plaudits last season due to the potential they showed at fullback. Obvs norwich conceded s*** loads of goals but they played wide open football from the outset like they did in the Championship (which was never going to work!). Agreed. It was really the...

Almiron is not a CM. He won't come deep to collect the ball like Jonjo. It won't happen. Move on.
I could see him going wherever necessary to get the ball, but it'd be a huge waste of what he does best, which is run with it in the open field on the break.

Re: PIF Takeover Officially Rejected by PL

This felt inevitable with so many powerful business people involved. Will be interesting to see where this goes. I have thought it funny that for months fans talked up how excited they were to have a super filthy rich king as owner, and then when it came out that the biggest sticking point was wheth...

Re: Other club transfers summer 2020

Villa have a 28m rising to 33m with add-ons bid accepted for Ollie Watkins Villa are starting to feel like West Ham with all of the money they've spent on strikers trying to find one who will actually score. Which I'd compare to us, except we often bought cheaper ones over the years and have actual...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)

Liverpool apparently willing to sell Brewster, a loan with obligation to buy would be a great for us, see Carroll off at the end of the season and probably be moving Gayle on by then. Wouldn't be a bad signing, is he ready for the prem though? 10 goals in 20 for Swansea isn't terrible. Would rather...

Re: Ryan Fraser Deal Agreed

With Fraser having not played any football whatsoever since March, I wouldn't be surprised to see him start on the bench against West Ham. Joelinton Almiron ASM behind Wilson. We might see a very different Joelinton when the pressure to score all of the goals is off. Will also help if there's more ...

Re: The Callum Wilson Thread

I really hope players don't get too preoccupied about shirt numbers. If gaining or losing a number changes your performance, probably aren't cut out to be a first choice PL striker (which Joe likely isn't regardless of whether it shook him).

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)

It's pretty interesting how differently recruitment is talked about anymore. Look back a decade ago and Graham Carr was so prominent in the scouting and transactions, but whoever the staff are nowadays never seemed to get namechecked. I guess Brucie is more involved than the managers were back then....

Re: England Squad Announced

Not the first athletes punished for similar behaviour lately either. A Seattle Seahawks rookie got released upon him sneaking a woman in (badly disguised in Seahawks gear). Wrecked his career before it even started.
