Re: NUFC Club Accounts 2017-2018

Interesting article on The Guardian about finances of PL clubs for 2017-2018, obviously our first season back after promotion. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/may/22/premier-league-finances-club-guide-2017-18-accounts-manchester-united-city Our turnover was £178m (8th highest in the leagu...

Re: Kit Thread 19/20

Despite my post above, I don't actually have a Newcastle kit with name and number. Mostly because I've been too cheap to pay extra. I have over the years collected a few of other clubs/countries though, including Samuel Eto'o - Cameroon, David Villa - Valencia, Michael Bradley - Roma (always loved R...

Re: Kit Thread 19/20

Not sure what's rookie about that, I got Cabaye's name on it immediately after the Darlo friendly, it was that obvious he was going to be decent. Haha I didn't mean it in that way, I loved Cabaye and still do. Brilliant player. I meant more in the case of getting a players name in general, not much...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

I'd have Perez over Mata. Mata has more quality than Perez but the defensive work that Perez put in last year was the best in the league for an attacking player, massively underrated part of his game. And Mata runs a bit like he's towing a caravan now. And I'll admit to feeling that your second fur...

Re: Kit Thread 19/20

White sleeves (plus the half stripes on the back) is a pretty big aside though. That one is actually one of my favourites from the Puma years, this new one is a black shirt with two white stripes. I think that one had a solid back too, it was only the past two they'd switched to the striped back wi...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

I'll say it, I'd rather have Mata than Perez. But Mata was maybe my favourite player in the world while he was playing with Valencia...so I'm biased.

Re: Kit Thread 19/20

That's the only bit I like... That the badges aren't central with with the Fun88 logo is what annoys me They're centre-aligned to one another, but the sponsor logo isn't symmetrical. White sleeves aside, pretty similar to the 2011-2012 kit. https://media.e-subsidesports.com/sites/us/media/images/pr...

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread

I’d have no issue with a woman managing a mans team, but that’s an almighty step up. It’d be like going from working in McDonald’s to being a chef in a Michelin star restaurant. I don’t think there’s anything in it personally, bigging up the women’s game is the media’s favourite pastime at the mome...

Re: Rafa Benitez reveals 'positive' talks over his Newcastle United future

^ I'd rather the Italian press be bigging us up than a move to Italy, as I'd have to think they'd be biased towards the latter.

Re: Man City referred to Uefa financial body

Agree about the wage cap, I would put good money on every single player in the PL going on strike if one was ever introduced such is the greed in football now. Footballers always come out with bollocks about needing to earn money for their families future as its a short career, but if you made say ...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

Man Utd interested in Longstaff If he does move in future he’ll probably want to go to a top club. I wonder what their recruitment is going to be like this summer. They're in shambles with so many huge earners on the outs, a manager they just hired who's already lost momentum, no CL football. Which...

Rafa still has quite a good reputatio in Italy doesn't he? I doubt if he would be first choice for Juventus, but they could do a lot worse. Would surely be tempting.
How'd he get along with Ronaldo when at Madrid?

Re: Rafa Benitez reveals 'positive' talks over his Newcastle United future

From NUFC.com It's reported by the Telegraph newspaper and other media outlets that face to face talks between Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and manager Rafa Benitez are scheduled to take place today. An undisclosed venue in London is claimed. Hes taking Rafa for a curry. I thought maybe they'd play ...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

19 goals and 15 assists over the past 2 seasons is pretty good in a side as drab as Palace, and as much as that is crazy money for anyone, he's been the difference for them between staying up and relegation, and t hat's worth a lot to them . This is true, what he's actually worth and what he's wort...

Re: Man City referred to Uefa financial body

I think we just hear more about City, but I'm pretty sure the Milan clubs have been grilled about it, and PSG too. Obviously it rarely ever comes to anything - but I don't think it's a case of City getting overtargetted relative to other big money clubs. Chelsea have obviously just been punished to...
