Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

It's been great to see. You have to put those young players in positions to succeed, not just random cup ties in a makeshift squad. 100% agree, only speaking of this with an English colleague in regards to the likes of Sancho, bar perhaps Man U and Spurs no team in the so called top 5-6 (even the t...

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

I'm glad he got a proper opportunity to prove himself. This isn't a shot at Rafa, because it goes back farther than him, but I feel like Longstaff is the first academy player (besides Dummett) to have gotten a consistent run-out in the senior side, in his true position, in a long time. Maybe he sho...

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

He looks every ounce a PL player, I’d go as far as to say that he’s the first CM on our team sheet at the moment (even when everyone else is fit). The others are vying for a place alongside him. Neves is touted as one of the best young midfielders around and Longstaff outshone him today so hopefull...

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

I don't like inconsistent refereeing. It's common the game over, but I can almost guarantee that gets called a foul for the first 85 minutes of the match - seeing as any contact by the attacker in the box is called anymore - but in the final minute they let it go.

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

Acknowledging the keeper made a mistake is not "having a go at the keeper". Some perspective needed here. He is still the best keeper we've got and has earned us many more points than his mistakes may have cost us. I think the difference is someone saying that he should have done better, and then t...

People blaming Dubravka can actually **** off, have no time for people like that. He's won us so many points this season.
This. 6th in saves, 2nd in high claims, 8th in punches. The guy is damn busy, and has made a lot of huge saves when it mattered.

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

Give up 60+% of possession every week, out-shot, out-cornered, etc. and you put a lot of pressure on your defenders and keeper not to make mistakes. It's a simple decision though. The ball was in the air for a long time for him to decide and assess the situation. BAD AND COST US AGAIN. No excuses. ...

To be fair I might have made that up. But I couldn’t tell you who has worn 24 since he left the club.

I didn't realise it'd been retired <scratch> To be fair I might have made that up. But I couldn’t tell you who has worn 24 since he left the club. I think you're right that nobody's worn it since, but I guess it could just be that nobody's been interested in the number. Almiron wore 10 with Atlanta...

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon

How about his propensity for fouling? Just kidding, not the time for me to complain about that. He's held his own the past month while the CM has been decimated by injuries/absences. Somebody describe the goal! We had possession on the right side of midfield, played a few triangles until Schar got ...
