Re: Pre-Christmas Fixtures

I think it's ambitious to have only one loss in that run, but not overly unrealistic. It's not out of reach, and I'd be very happy if the results go that way. I'd probably swap around West Ham and Watford though. Oh just seen the Burnley game is a loss as well <laugh> We have to beat Brighton this ...

Pre-Christmas Fixtures

Okay, so to tide us over the last few days of the international break lull, what are people's realistic expectations for our games in the run-up to Christmas? The run is favorable compared to our first eight games, and if we don't pick up decent points then relegation looks like a distinct possibili...

Would be pretty embarrassing if the same people who weren't happy about Wonga were perfectly content with the Saudi royal family owning us.
Indeed, but a lot of football fans are fickle hypocrites.

Re: Has Ashley lowered his asking price for NUFC to £300m?

Supposedly the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia (worth 3 billion) is interested in buying a football club, majority of interest seems to be in Man United but they aren't for sale, Think if we all write a letter to him he'll offer Ashley 300m for Newcastle ??? tbh if we became the Saudi version of Man C...

Re: First game advice?

Can't remember the car park or anything, but it's out the back of the metro centre. It's not the actual bus station but you walk past that to the car park out the back where there's a metro/train station. There will be some double decker buses parked up. One of the locals on here might be able to de...

Re: First game advice?

Where are you traveling from? I drive up from the Midlands so always park for free at the metro centre. There's a bus that takes you direct to and from the stadium, only costs a quid or something. Plus you can get food in the metro centre too. Tickets are on public sale now so I'd call the box offic...

Re: Rodgers in?

This ridiculous story aside, I’m surprised at some of the comments here about Rodgers. We could do a hell of a lot worse. This. He's certainly smug and more than a little Brent-ish. But a good coach with a decent record. He'd be among the top of my short list. With rangers being out of the picture ...

Re: Rodgers in?

I'm sure he's a reasonable coach, but I just don't want a smug prick in charge. He's not Neil Lennon level of prick, but he's still a smug ****.

Re: Rodgers in?

We are in a s*** position. Realistically we need to be thinking about who we want to appoint next season as Rafa isn't staying. But given that it's by no means certain that we'll be in the PL next year that's going to hamper things (in addition to having the issue that lots of managers won't want to...

Yeah I've sat in platinum club a couple of times, it's decent in terms of having the separate bar etc., comfy seats and a good view, but there is no atmosphere at all.

I'd prefer Ted Rogers with Dusty Bin as his assistant.

I only get to a couple of home games a season, but I've never found a pub that's unfriendly to non-local fans.

Re: England squad for October

Scotland, Wales, NI (and we can hoy the ROI in there too) fans and pundits more or less all know/agree that the teams are very average. Most have two or three decent players, but there are a lot of players in all of those teams who aren't international standard, with the lack of decent striking opti...

Re: England squad for October

Scotland take on the mighty Israel tonight in this Nations League malarkey. I've read it's a must win game for Scotland to qualify for a tournament but quite how that happens is beyond me. If they finish top of their group they will be one of league C playoff teams A playoff which they'd lose presu...

Re: Leeds Owner Calls For 'Premier League 2'

I don't think there's any way we're going to see a smaller premier league. In terms of PL2, the key thing for me is addressing the financial gulf between the PL and the Championship. It doesn't really matter what we call the championship, but for a team finishing bottom of the PL to get 10x as much ...
