Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)

Apparently that Florent Indalecio, striker on trial, 23, mate of ASM, been offered a deal until the end of the season. I'm assuming he can't be registered in the squad, I'm sure the squad list was full? Obviously expect him to go into the reserves and not much more for the time being. If there was a...

Re: Other club transfers summer 2020

The fact that the fans of a wee club like Newcastle wouldn't take him says plenty.

Re: Other club transfers summer 2020

Jones only signed a new four year contract last February. Apparently he is on £75k per week. I'm surprised he has played at Man Utd for so long. He looked good at Blackburn and in his first few seasons at Man Utd, but I think if Ferguson had still been there, Jones would have gone long before now. ...

Re: Match day thread: Newcastle v Man U

Bulliet is definitely a classic. Four Roses is the basic bourbon I tend to keep stocked in our bar. Yeah, they are made by the same distillery aren't they? Used to buy Four Roses all the time, but haven't seen a bottle round here on sale for about 10 years unfortunately. Still Bulleit is good too. ...

Re: Match day thread: Newcastle v Man U

I agree with mostly all of that, and perhaps all of that anyway. From playing alongside Longstaff, implies that Almiron should be deeper in midfield - I disagree with that. I think he needs to be in the three behind the Wilson, most likely central. We are clearly lacking in creativity in central mi...

Re: Match day thread: Newcastle v Man U

But he didn't even do that competently. If that was the plan, you'd play a proper back 3/5 - Schar, Lascelles, Fernandez from the start - with Lewis and Manquillo as wing backs, Hayden and Shelvey in the middle and then a proper front 3. Instead we got a whole lot of nothingness with this beige 4-1...

Re: Match day thread: Newcastle v Man U

Nice - my local Waitrose is closing on 31st December so may need to pay a visit to stock up. Sazerac Rye is excellent, it’s £40/£45 a bottle (got mine online) but well worth it. Haven’t had one for a few years. I'll look out for it in the event any local shop stocks it in the future! See i'm too ti...

What you drinking? I opened a new bottle of sazerac rye recently and had forgotten how good it was.

If Darlow is injured can we recall woodman...
Pretty sure we had this exact problem a few years ago when darlow was out on loan. Krul and Elliot injured, league said no, here comes Jack Alnwick.

Darlow keeps his spot when Dubravka is back, if his form doesn’t drop no reason to drop him.
With that exact caveat, I agree. He's playing for his place now, Darlow, and fair play to him. If he carries on, aye he doesn't deserved to be dropped.

Re: Match day thread: Newcastle v Man U

Midfield is far too compact and static, feels like hayden shelvey and hendrick are all fighting for the same spot at times, need to take one of them off for almiron or fraser, push asm out right to run at Shaw. Joelinton central, Almiron on the left. I'd take Joelinton or Hendrick off and put Frase...

Re: Match day thread: Newcastle v Man U

Can't really expect changes in central midfield when we don't have any other central midfielders (why I've wanted improvement there for years). But I don't like running out the same side waiting until you get bad results to then make a change. Seems like there was opportunity to mix things up a lit...

They don't have strong cover in defence either. Joe Gomez and Joel Matip obviously the senior centrebacks now. Only have Sepp van den Burg (18) and Nathanial Phillips (23) as cover currently. They signed VDB last summer, not sure if they see him as ready yet but had the odd appearance. Phillips has ...

Re: Match day thread: Newcastle v Man U

What do Fraser and Almiron have to do to start? Bruce was giving it the big one about taking the game to them etc, but goes with the same old again. Even just a little tweak to represent that you're playing someone different would be nice. Putting Hendrick central for Shelvey and starting Fraser on ...
