Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
Yeah he will definitely play, an annoyance this season is how little we have seen Dummett, Ritchie, Targett, all taking up space but offering little to no minutes for us even during the injury crisis. So replacing these with players who can compete for games is a step forward.

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
I see Kelly as a replacement for Targett/Dummett. He's not going to be first choice CB or LB.
I'm probably more concerned with the Olise rumours tbh. I'm really not ready for another player with spaghettified hamstrings, especially at a rumoured 60m

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
Craig Hope reporting we are now favorites to sign Tosin.
If we do get him and Kelly wrapped up very soon that is a great start to the summer. Can then fully focus on getting a couple of quality players in for pre season.

Re: Weekend Football (Matchweek 37)
If Forest lose next week then the record will be smashed for a team surviving on the fewest points, West Brom have the current record at I think 34, Forest would survive on 29 points. That bottom 3 this year have been horrendous.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Seagulls
Barnes for me needs to be given a proper chance, he's constantly in and out the team, he's played great in some games then seen himself out the next game, I can forgive some of his inconsistency because of this, he needs a proper run in the team., its clear to see he has bags of quality. Murphy i fe...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Seagulls
Tactically poor today, as a home team you should never set up to play the oppositions game at SJP. Isak shouldn't have been subbed off, outright bizarre decision imo, atrocious passing at times on the pitch which wasn't helped by having a 2 man midfield so that we had to resort to long balls or tryi...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Seagulls
We are basically playing a 5-2-3 formation this half and predictably getting completely over run in midfield.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Seagulls
Been really bad for it this year, too many times we set up to play the opposition and basically neglect our own play imo, we are best when we play quick football and sometimes we just slow things right down and always get caught out, that's why teams ha e had lots of success pressing us this year.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Seagulls
Couldn't tell you what formation we are playing today, I've seen Anderson and LB, Hall at CB and CM, Burn up front. What the **** is going on.

Re: Football Titbits
If its a manager, since its was in UK in 90s, its one of five right? Moyes, Dyche, Howe, O'Neill and Wilder Wilder is ruled out as it was someone in post in November. Neither O’Neill nor Howe would have been in “boss” positions 20 years ago due to their age. So IF it was a manager it is probably Mo...

Re: Football Titbits
Maybe reading into that too much but "Boss" makes it sound more like one of the owners rather than a manager.
Though confirming a manager would narrow down who it could be and conflict with the anonymity part.

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
Lloyd Kelly deal all but done according to some condiments . <laugh> His injury record rivals Wilson though... I'd hope that Kelly is mainly used as back up rather than having lots of game time, I'd see him more of an upgrade on Dummett, basically like a Krafth for the left side/CB I think his inju...

Re: Weekend football - 2/6 May 2024
I've noticed this a few times recently on tighter calls, been a couple in the premier league, not ones that lead immediately to a goal like this one but some tight calls that are given when there's at least an opportunity to play a dangerous ball. If they are to continue with this ridiculous millime...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley
That's the Premier League for you, it's basically how it's been set up, sadly a lot of teams have been the turkeys that are voting for Christmas over the years, so I do lose a little bit of sympathy in that regard as it's been of their own making with how they went with so much of the "top 6" **** e...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley
I said a few times recently that I think we only really need 2 quality signings, a RW and a CDM. But that was taking into account the potential free defensive signings. So that would depend on how the Kelly and Tosin rumours go. Bowen would be the dream signing for me, only hope of signing him is if...

Dougie Freedman to Become New Sporting Director?
Can't say I know too much about him as a DoF or what he's done at Palace.
