Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

Feels a bit harsh on Livramento to give him this game instead of a few easier teams where he can be on the front foot more. Excited to see it though, hopefully he can cover for the midfield being so light at the moment.

Re: Coronavirus

Jersey starting to loosen up some of our restrictions now to try and actively get more people infected at a manageable rate. We've only had just under 300 infections (0.3% of pop) and 23 deaths (0.02%). Can't say I disagree with the plan, especially in a closed system like we have over here. Getting...

Re: The Message of Hate Thread

More depression than hate but the FA have now cancelled the season for the lower leagues and expunged all results. This means Jersey Bulls winning run (27 games so far) essentially never happened. No promotion even though we've already been promoted on points. Not enough <neg> in the world... Sounds...

Yeah I had adults in my family trying to get me to support one of Man U, Spurs, Chelsea or the Toon. And I plumped for our rabble.

And now Guernsey FC, which was only formed in 2011. So I have that to fall back on.
Can't tempt you with a glory hunting switch to Jersey Bulls can I? <roll>

Re: Match thread - Leicester v NUFC

That may actually be the worst I've ever seen us play. Literally no hope of scoring, worse than I remember us looking even under Carver.

Re: Liverpool vs NUFC

That was fine, not a bad performance they're just a better team. Still not much of a fan of Shelvey in there but I guess limited choices...Krafth needs dropping too.

Oh and think we could do with some competition for Dubravka, he's been a bit sloppy since second half of last season to be honest.

Swear Krafth gets in those positions at least a couple of times a game and proceeds to **** up the finish every time.

With Shelvey in midfield we're even more f***ed than we would've been anyway - 4-0 to Liverpool.

Sad to not go through but can't really complain with our second string getting a draw against Leicester's starting XI - hopefully that gives us a little bit of confidence to take to the weekend.

Re: Match Thread - Spurs v NUFC

Got away with one from VAR but Sanchez should definitely have been off for hauling down Muto when he was away so think it was fair in the end. Good day all in all Jersey Bulls winning 4-0 and now us actually getting some points! <diva> Really don’t understand this logic that trying to get a foul by...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC V Arsenal

Not massively put off by that. We looked alright in the first half when we actually had three midfielders on and it just went to s*** with the subs (which is a bit worrying). I think if Willems is a bit more awake and Schar doesn't have comfortably his worst game in a NUFC shirt then that's a somewh...

Yeah I just have, read a few of their articles earlier and was very impressed. Always willing to support journalism when they go the extra mile to produce something actually quality and the price is incredibly reasonable for the first year so will give them an extended chance.

Re: Ashley Agrees to Newcastle for £350m

MIKE ASHLEY has agreed to sell Newcastle for £350million to the cousin of Manchester City’s Arab owner Sheikh Mansour. SunSport understands contracts have been signed and submitted to the Premier League between Ashley and Dubai-based billionaire Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan. He is a senior me...

Re: Rafa Benitez reveals 'positive' talks over his Newcastle United future

The guarantees will be around money available and potentially the authority to sign players over a certain age I suspect. As Colly says, you can’t stipulate signing a specific player as ultimately that decision falls to the club who owns them and the player themselves. Well yeah was thinking more a...

Surely a stipulation of him signing will be that we sign Rondon? I don't want to get my hopes too high but surely!

This is so bizarre, it's like Brighton have given up from the first minute. Still expecting them to scab a win somehow though!
