Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

We were briefly on relegation form around New Year isn't the same as "relegation form for months" though is it? If it is we're doing bloody well to be top half.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

We have been on relegation form for months , it's been coming. Hopefully questions start actually being asked now rather than excuses being made for the absolute s**** we are seeing every week. This is complete hyperbole though, we've been 6th-10th since September. It's not good enough, but it's mi...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

Everyone looks terrified in possession. Go back to PSG away where we were still passing the ball around the back in triangles and compare it to this and it's insane.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

Feels like they've got about 14 players on. Missing Joelinton hugely.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Forest

Midfield is too lightweight with these three and doesn't work. No Pope to push the defence up, sweep behind and compact midfield doesn't help either. These two factors leave Burn exposed, as the system he thrived in just isn't there at the minute. Crying out for recovery pace to make it work better...

I've got it, but unless I'm being thick it doesn't actually say when it is! Really helpful.

I think I'd cry if we sold Joelinton to another PL team.

Re: The Match Tickets Thread

With the speed it's dropped down to a couple of tickets left it wouldn't surprise me.

Re: Howe under pressure?

<ok> Excellent all round. And that second last para on "who comes in?" is an excellent point. It's not as if there's a big surplus of available proven managers floating around, particularly considering we'd now be competing with Liverpool and Barcelona who are clearly bigger pulls. Mourinho has a re...

Re: Howe under pressure?

Agreed, while Tino could have played more the calls for Hall and particularly the likes of Murphy, Parkinson etc from fans who clearly don't watch the reserves are silly at best. Back onto the fans, I'm sorry but Howe was in the process of taking Burn off anyway, getting on his back helps no one. Bu...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Hatters

Having watched the highlights I've got no complaints about the pen, just at having Dan Burn at LB... Howe said in the post match interview that Gordon has twisted his ankle which I didn't catch - did wonder why he was brought off as I thought he had a decent game. Hopefully it's nothing serious <ur...

Re: Howe under pressure?

I think the club really needs to evaluate Howe at the end of the season. Persistent issues not being resolved, how he can continue to pick Burn when we are handcuffed by FFP yet he's sitting £60m+ worth of full backs on the bench. Last 2 games are ones too far for me on this issue, 2 games in a row...
