Yeah I'm overjoyed really. Never thought I'd end up on wages like that. This missus is already hinting at going let time though !!Duke wrote:Congrats. That's a great salary you must be chuffed

I'm not entirely sure to be honest , I think you do the odd lodging in Aberdeen and kings cross . You stay in a hotel for a night then travel back in the morning .Ramone wrote:How does it work then? Do you have to stay overnight at places when you're working? I don't why but I've always been curious about what it would be like to be a train driver.Toondes wrote:Hi thanks for all the congrats.

My route is going to be Newcastle to kings cross and I think these new trains can do it in 2hr 40 so
You'd only stay over if you were the last train from
Newcastle .

Re: The Message of Awe Thread
I’ve nicknamed a developer the paranoid retriever.
He’s building some search logic for a new project and essentially he’s built it to return everything.
You can type ‘Dave’ into a forename field and submit and you get a range of names returned because the forenames contain a ‘d’, ‘a’, ‘v’ or an ‘e’ like ‘Edwina’ or ‘Sadie’ or ‘Vernon’ . Rarely do you get ‘Dave’ returned…
I know this sounds as if it should be in the hate thread but I’m just in awe of his stupidity.
