Re: Holidays
Going to Jamaica in May but haven't booked a place yet. Anyone been? I could really do with some pointers. Want to go to Kingston for a day, so preferably somewhere near there, although there doesn't seem to be any resorts close.

Went to Sandals Negril about 10 years ago. Really lovely place, but don't think you can go that wrong at any decent resort in Jamaica.Somebody's pinched my sombrero wrote:Going to Jamaica in May but haven't booked a place yet. Anyone been? Cheers. That's one I've looked at but they all look pretty much the same. Sandals seems a lot more expensive that the others though?PTAO wrote:Went to Sandals Negril about 10 years ago. Sandals is mega bucks!
Montego bay is the main area isn't it? Which to me would mean it's the area I avoid.

Booked for Negril, any tips would be appreciated. Ie places to go, is it safe to go into town and off the beaten track?PTAO wrote:Went to Sandals Negril about 10 years ago. Im going back in June - the treasure hunt starts again!Somebody's pinched my sombrero wrote:I'm still there Mickey. How was the holiday mate??
It's in a bar called Kohyli at the bottom of the bank at the Marbella. (Turn left and it's on the right hand side 50 yards along the road). The bloke who works there is called Alex. Tell him you know Ian and I've left a drink and a small "gift" behind the bar for you and your good lady. (Don't get too excited, it's not much!") The people there, Alex, Chris and Vassilli will make you feel very welcome.

Ha! It was only a Newwcastle badge but I honestly left a tenner behind the bar for a drink for you. If they can't remember, just have a dump on your seat on the way out as a sign of your dissatisfaction.Micky Quim wrote:Im going back in June - the treasure hunt starts again!Somebody's pinched my sombrero wrote: I'm still there Mickey. It was a good while ago but I'm seeing some of the people I went with this weekend so will try and remember. We did a horse riding trek through the jungle and into the sea which was pretty cool, if you're into that sort of thing.Somebody's pinched my sombrero wrote:Booked for Negril, any tips would be appreciated. We mainly stayed in the resort though as there was so much to do there.

Saw it this morning Mick. If it gets any worse we might get offered an alternative. Had a few days out planned an all.
