Still, it’s less embarrassing than Man U spending £80m on Maguire.Remember Colo wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 6:40 pmThat reminds me, with them already having loaned out Alfie Mawson - what an expensive bust he was. That they spent 20m on him 2 years ago and he isn't good enough for CB with their options right now (already sent on loan to Bristol City) is damning.

Wait, wait, wait, RLC is on 150k a week?! That's insane! How are they spending what they are on transfer fees this year already paying wages like that to mediocre players like him!

‘Breaking news’ is very apt given his injury record.

Says he's been healthy for much of his time there and they simply didn't play him. Given the previous 8 years of his career, I'm doubtful.

Apparently “desperate to play football” but I bet he wouldn’t take a £20k a week offer to play in the Championship.

Re: Other club transfers summer 2020
What's funny about Wilshire being released.. is that he'll be the perfect box-to-box technical central midfielder who could could work well with Hayden with his vision, passing, creativity, movement & footballing IQ.
Unfortunately his injury & fitness record have taken there toll & I doubt he'll ever be the same physical. Would anyone take a punt on him.. like a Carroll sort of deal? Give him a basic wage of 20k a week with added bonuses related to appearances / performance & even more for goals/assists? Surely can't be the worst deal.. give him a short term contract (3 - 4 months) then extend it if it goes well? Or even better a pay as you play deal.. ???

Agreed. On paper he fits nicely, but if he's been fit for 8 months and not picked there's a damn good reason.

Re: Other club transfers summer 2020
The number of players loitering at clubs, not playing is ridiculous. And I don't blame the players for that - clubs are so irresponsible giving out 5+ year contracts to uncertain players and then moving onto the next ones without a plan for getting rid of the old. The entire system sometimes feels so broken.

Re: Other club transfers summer 2020
Wilshere doesn't strike me as the sort of player that would take a deal like that. I imagine he will be like Welbeck and still expect a 6 figure weekly salary despite never showing that he is worth it. I expect a team like Fulham will pick him up and pay him a decent wage.Sanchino wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 9:37 pmWhat's funny about Wilshire being released.. is that he'll be the perfect box-to-box technical central midfielder who could could work well with Hayden with his vision, passing, creativity, movement & footballing IQ.

Re: Other club transfers summer 2020
Never understood the issue with that tbh, there's only 2 teams in the league with the same 'name' so it's natural to refer to them as 'City' and 'United'. Most other teams just go by their location without the United part when spoke about casually or in the press.Blue & Maroon wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 9:39 pmhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54405144

Re: Other club transfers summer 2020
That's true at the moment, but if Sheff Wed get promoted I'll eat my hat if they start referring to Sheffield United as "United".

I refer to Man Utd as "United" all the time and everyone knows what you mean . If we referred to ourselves as "United" then it might be an issue, but we don't, neither do Leeds, West Ham or Sheff Utd.ALF wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 8:44 amNever understood the issue with that tbh, there's only 2 teams in the league with the same 'name' so it's natural to refer to them as 'City' and 'United'. Good signing, but west ham have a habit of signing ex citing seeming players and making them crap. Felipe Anderson was a good signing at the time, but now on loan at Porto. Good on him.

Anderson was class in his first season then fell off a cliff for some reason and was awful after that.

This. Plus the 'Red Devils' is a lame and cingeworthy nickname - it doesn't surprise me they prefer just to call themselves United.biggeordiedave wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 9:45 amI refer to Man Utd as "United" all the time and everyone knows what you mean .
