I stand by my comment 😂
I still don't why he's still here though, when is the last time he played a competitive match?

I think it is a tad harsh, on Saivet. He seemed to do alright in the (very) brief showings he had. Obviously there must be a reason for the lack of appearances. I vaguely remember a free kick goal against west ham? And then he was unceremoniously dropped again.

I'm sure he's a nice fella and all that I just don't know why he's still on the wage bill

He got a long contract and probably decent wages, probably nobody wants to match his wages and why should he take a pay cut to leave...the club gave him a contract so he’s got every right to sit on it (like Colback did).

We signed Saivet nearly 5 years ago <laugh> That's madness, 8 game in all competitions.

Surprised that Sean has kept 36 and Matty has 4.

I don't blame him at all, he'll never get a contract like that again. The club should have paid him out to get him out sooner, maybe cut their loses a bit. That would allow him to sign for someone else and play and get paid

Yep. It’s probably more complicated but I don’t see why if another club is interested but can only pay half his wages then we might as well let him go and pay the other half for the remainder of his contract e.g. better to only lose £20k a week than £40k a week. Same with Colback last season, should have loaned him out somewhere and even if a championship team would only pay half his wages (there would be takers) and we pick up the other half then we’re still saving money.

That quote sounds like a good Bruce-ism - these two centrebacks are broken, so it's a good idea to loan out this other one.

That’s what I thought <laugh>

Oh, we’ve got loads of centre backs out injured so let’s loan one out now rather than wait until nearer the end of the window!

An interesting 25 man squad
Atsu probably the most high profile player to miss out , Gayle and Ritchie are a surprise both could perhaps be further along on their rehab then first believed.

Yeah I thought Gayle was out until Xmas at least but Ritchie was only for a couple of months (if which 2 weeks has already passed) so not too surprising he’s included as could be back late next month.

Perhaps so, that's why I was unsure on him. Gayle is definitely a surprise, hopefully he isn't rushed back.

I'd also wonder with 3 right backs, are we now considering Krafth as a cb option
I'll Hazard a guess

They're not going to leave spaces blank and out of the ones missing only Atsu had any chance of playing. Probably got a move lined up so may as well include Gayle in case he's fit for even a week of the period this squad covers.
