FA Cup 6th round weekend - remember the excitement we all felt last year when The Toon reached this stage of the competition? - so a reduced but, nonetheless, crucial league programme with a couple of MASSIVE games at the bottom which could make or break our season!

This.. Leeds are unpredictable, as much as they can win this game they can lose it. Talking about Fulham.. IF we survive & they get relegated would anyone take the likes of Lookman, Bobby Reid, Mitrovic , Lemina, Andersen, Josh Maja, Cavaiero & Zambo Anguissa?

Lookman has been one of there best players.. is still only 23 & a can play out-wide & through the middle.. imagine a front three of him, Miggy & ASM behind Wilson?

Mitrovic is better than Joelinton & Carroll as a target-man & could form a good partnership with someone like Wilson. Anderson looks like a solid CB replacement if Schar/Lejune/Fernandez leave. Maja even though he's got Mackem connections he'll be useful as a back-up to Wilson.. a younger & better replacement for Gayle shall we say. I've always liked Lemina & his box-to-box style of play would suit us to a peach.. he's like a poorer mans' Moussa Dembele which isn't a bad thing. Him, Hayden & Willock in a midfield would be a nice & well-rounded balanced energetic ,strong, quick & powerful trio. Can give them one of the Longstaffs on loan in exchange.

IF then I'd happily take Andersen (who's only on loan from Lyon I think) and Lookman.

Bobby Reid/Maja still look more like Championship players, Mitro has regressed it seems and you'd think there would be a better option somewhere.

Definitely like the looks of Lookman, although isn't he only on loan to them anyway?

I think Leeds get found out next season. Defensively they are awful, if teams find out how to stop them going forward I can see a Sheffield like collapse.

I feel more confident that they'll spend to improve that side of the team than Sheffield ever was going to to freshen things up for this season.

Tbh if the team cannot save itself despite Bruce and his tactical deficit, with ten games to go and two currently in hand on Fulham , then wtaf, we deserve to be in the lower league.
