Re: newcastle vs brenford today 26 feb 22
I don't feel it as much before games anymore. Easy to trust the current regime and manager. A overload of excitement before each game is what I feel now, and especially after what I saw from them the last game. With a full injury free squad were are actually a good team now. Easily mid table.

Got to be looking to come away with 3 points today.

We're unbeaten in the league since christmas, and Brentford are on an awful run of form

Any news if ASM travelled? Didn’t see him in any training pics.

On paper we should be getting a point at least. On form we should be winning. So I think we'll lose.

A cliche but first goal is huge. We generally don’t score more than one so if they score first might well have to take a draw. But if we get the first it could really be a psychological blow to them and we can make the most of that.

Maybe I'm paranoid but it feels like the Saint Maximin absence isn't injury related. You don't have a "knock" that requires late fitness tests, yet spend the last week or so over in France training by yourself without club staff supervision. It doesn't add up, I think he's been having minor fall outs with Howe, nothing major but not getting away with unprofessional behaviour like he did under Bruce.

I’m optimistic, that’s the danger point right there.
Hope we continue our disciplined battling professional performances of late and do a right good job here.
The Christian Erickson dynamic could be interesting. Does an opposition player want to be fully committed and rattle him or will there be tentative approaches by players and officials toward him today ?
Great for him to return of course all things considered. Hopefully he doesn’t contribute too much.
Narrow win for us today….. hopefully

I always think the first 4 goals are crucial. If we get all of them then I'm confident we'll win.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 1:19 pmA cliche but first goal is huge. Same lineup as last week, surprised Manquillo isn’t in at RB.

You know I think I would based on the results so far this weekend although, obviously, would much prefer all 3 which I think we're quite capable of achieving.

Re: newcastle vs brenford today 26 feb 22
What other player gets a knock then goes to their home country, away from the club to train alone? Also ASM has well documented club rule breaches, under Bruce it used to be treated as a bit of a joke that he was the one breaking all the club rules and turning up late for almost every training session.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 1:57 pmThat’s quite the leap you’re making there!Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 1:36 pmMaybe I'm paranoid but it feels like the Saint Maximin absence isn't injury related. So I don't think it's that far fetched if he's been sent away for a couple of weeks for disciplinary reasons.
