Matchday thread - Manchester United v Toon
Re: Matchday thread - Manchester United v Toon
I think we can stop complaining about the ref. Sancho's was about as much a foul as the one on Wilson, and Ronaldo's looked a foul to me. Casemiro should have been booked for his dive though.
Burn attacking is ludicrous, get Targett on.

Yeah i'm loving what Howe is doing, but I don't understand his preference for Burn over Targett at LB.

Lascelles reminds me of Bramble.
Re: Matchday thread - Manchester United v Toon
Nowhere near as naturally good, doesn't have that amazing outball that Titus had. Lascelles is slightly more sensible, but with a great partner Titus could be excellent.

We are so inconsistent, feels like every time a team is there to be taken we always put in a disjointed sloppy performances. Very frustrating. Luckily to come away with a point in what should have been targeted as 3.

Away to old Trafford, take a draw, imo thats acceptable, irrespective of ifs buts maybes.
A measure of our improvement under EH that in many ways theres a disappointment about us today.
We are far more resilient and clearly a pragmatic steady approach around our club build is yielding results.
Quibbles around tactics and players are background noise secondary to our undoubted upward path.
Take it, sitting in top 6 , good times.

I think that's a good result. We use that press and create chances early, but by the end of the game we're knackered and will let opponents in occasionally. Against weaker opponents, or with that extra cutting edge of Isak we get a goal or two and it's a bit less scary in the last half hour, but I'll take that.

They beat arsenal (who have won every other game) in their last home game, and this time 12 months ago we hadn’t even won a single match - it’s huge progress in very little time.

As somebody has already said, it is a sign of the team's improvement that we can draw away at Man U and feel disappointed. In this instance without even really playing that well. Good result!

Very happy with that, roll on Wednesday!
Re: Matchday thread - Manchester United v Toon
Yep, a draw at Old Trafford without ASM or Isak is a good result to feel a bit gutted about. Even though it's our nine hundredth draw of the season it'll do nicely.Donkey Toon wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 3:21 pmAs somebody has already said, it is a sign of the team's improvement that we can draw away at Man U and feel disappointed. Howe saying we won't see Isak before the break for the World Cup.
