Blackburn, my thoughts.
We played badly but won.
Jizz etc etc.

Re: Blackburn, my thoughts.
Perch had a good game, deserves some plaudits. 2 good games in a row for him now!
Krul & Colo also played well. Nobody else did really.

Sign of a good team, 3 massive points after last week
Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience.

Colo was a colossus
And Perch proved again he has a use

Re: Blackburn, my thoughts.
Perch is a solid CM, much better than Gosling (or should i say, more proven than Gosling). I don't know who bid for him but they were clearly seeing some potential for greatness (or just continued averageness).

Re: Blackburn, my thoughts.
He is actually a decent tackler, just caught out of position too many times playing at RB. DM is a different kettle of fish, doesn't require much positional sense, just for him to put his body on the line in the middle of the park and break up opposition attacks.Donkey Toon wrote:Perch impressive again and looking good in the dm role.

Re: Blackburn, my thoughts.
Perch has really good vision on the ball, didn't even notice until today!
Re: Blackburn, my thoughts.
Aye he's a canny DM, might he even have a future here beyond summer?
Re: Blackburn, my thoughts.
The fact he's used as backup to Tiote on the bench suggests Pardew rates him there.

Re: Blackburn, my thoughts.
I found myself watching him for the last twenty minutes or so of the game (pretty much ignoring the actual action if it wasn't on him) just to see what his positioning was like. I was really impressed. Seems to read the game very well and was moving early to get into potential covering positions and very quick to spot a pass recipient and close them down. The Dream Boat wrote:He is actually a decent tackler, just caught out of position too many times playing at RB. Really starting to think he is going to grow into a useful member of our squad.

Have you had the same discussion with my wife that I have?Albert's Chip Shop wrote:Im getting a semi on thinking about Sunday....
Anyhow, we were awful tonight. Friend of mine who is a Spurs fan (don't judge me) claimed after they ragged through against Watford that good teams know how to win when playing poorly, yet called us jammy tonight. I argued.
There is no sin except stupidity.
Re: Blackburn, my thoughts.
Ben Arfa going off was the right decision by the way, there's too much hysteria surrounding every little thing that happens to him. We were getting slaughtered down the right and him not defending wasnt helping, needed a more defensive winger and a change of formation.
Re: Blackburn, my thoughts.
I have to be honest, I was surprised that it was Ben Arfa coming off and not Raylor. Raylor looked like he was hot headed after that yellow card and I figured it would be a straight swap with Perch. Made sense bringing off HBA though, he did give the ball away a hell of a lot.

I pointed this out on another forum, but everyone just seemed to ignore my point...Smudger wrote:Ben Arfa going off was the right decision by the way, there's too much hysteria surrounding every little thing that happens to him.
