The Baltic Cup - football

Post by daib0 » Wed Jun 01, 2016 9:17 am

We're all homing in on the Euros that are soon to kick off but the other 'big' tournament is the Baltic Cup. OK, it's not all that big, but it has been celebrated since 1928 - making it the oldest football tournament for national teams in Europe!

Now it's Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia that are going to give it all this year. But Finland were also in the last tournament (held every two years); however they seem to have dropped out this time. Back in history Belarus have also made an appearance or two.

Latvia and Lithuania have both won 11 times, Estonia on just three occasions.
