I'd have taken 2-1 before the match so 4-1 is f***ing brilliant.

The guy on sky sports is the same guy who was commentating on all our games on foreign streams for the last 5 years

One major positive is that when we concede, we don't absolutely collapse and get shafted.

I tuned into BBC Radio Newcastle on the drive home from work and genuinely thought we were losing 3-1 for about 5 minutes when we were actually 2-1 up because of how negative whoever the f*** that Irish bloke is.

I still don't think the negative comments are unjustified. Just because we're winning, doesn't mean we're playing great. Reading had more than enough chances to get back into the game at 2-1 and 3-1. Thankfully we held on and finished them off at the end. A 4-1 win does not necessarily equate to a good performance.

Sometimes I wonder if because we're so used to losing at this point, we forget that even the teams that win a lot have bad periods in nearly every match

Tony Gale. Pretty average footballer in his day, s**** pundit these days!

This. Didn't care how we won tonight, just needed to try and build some momentum/confidence.

Perhaps that's what it is! I don't expect us to be fantastic from start to finish, but the regularity with which they were carving us open and creating chances was worrying. That said, we took our chances and they didn't <ok>.

Oh yeah but if you'd heard him, you'd genuinely have thought we were getting hammered. He almost had a fit when Rafa went to three at the back and kept criticising the most pointless things. Sounded like an absolute dinosaur, whoever he was.

Wonder if we'll see Mbemba and Hanley at CB on Sat? Rafa still trying to see which combination works best and make use of the squad.

This. Everytime I watch Manure, Chelsea etc and they're having a period when they're getting outplayed, I think to myself "they'll come back into this". When it's us I just think we're s*** and/or f***ed.

I think its the lack of pressure on the ball which was the problem. Even at this level, if you don't press the ball, teams will cause you problems. I'm not convinced by our midfield at the moment. I think Hayden has done very well but I'm not sure about Shelvey at all.

still haven't seen Mbemba and Lascelles, surprising since they were so good together last season

It was Mbemba and Lascelles against Huddersfield on Saturday.
