I love the irony of Leeds fans complaining about teams spending too much

Gutted I missed this. The highlights on Sky website make it seem like we got battered and scored with our only two chances, is that accurate?

Not at all. I'd say both teams had their share of sustained pressure. We were on the front foot for most of the first half then Leeds had about 4 or 5 corners in a row towards the end of it but to be honest we never looked too shaky. Leeds had more of the ball to begin with in the second half but made too many mistakes. Once we scored our second we did our usual trick of sitting back but looked comfortable for the most part. There weren't many chances overall to speak about really.Heisen wrote:Gutted I missed this. Not really, we smashed them in the first 30-35 minutes. They had loads of corners and crosses but none came to anything. We didn't have millions of good chances but we had enough and they had little enough for it to be a deserved win.Heisen wrote:Gutted I missed this. Pretty much this. Leeds had spells with a lot of possession (70% for a 10 minute period in the first half) and had a few efforts on goal but Darlow was always equal to them. I think we were relatively happy to sit at 1-0 and 2-0 rather than press for more.Acid Hippo wrote:Not at all. I'd say both teams had their share of sustained pressure. And today's game continued my record of never seeing us lose live. Should be going to Hull away in the cup too so good news there hopefully.

Oh definitely. If Leeds didn't make so many mistakes they could have been a lot more dangerous on the break. We pushed up so much in the first half but once we were 2-0 up there was no need to really go for more. Never really got out of first gear, or needed to.Bodacious Benny wrote:Pretty much this. Shelvey seemed to boss the midfield today. Lots of nice passes. I really hope he's found innocent, not least because we'll miss him if he gets banned.

No. I'm the most pessimistic fan there is, constantly jumping around thinking "oh god oh god oh god!" But we were so professional. Totally bossed the first 35 mins, got a deserved goal and then they came back into it with a succession of corners. They started as they finished the 1st half, on top, but we countered and finished a move brilliantly to make it 2 nil. And from then on we just soaked the little pressure that came our way. But tbh, there wasn't any real clear cut chances for either team after that.Heisen wrote:Gutted I missed this. This was another one where I was never in any doubt that we'd win once we were 1-0 up. It's such a nice feeling. Last season we'd have needed to be 3 clear before I would accept we had a slight chance of winning.
Kindly deeds done for free!

Did you think that at Villa?biggeordiedave wrote:This was another one where I was never in any doubt that we'd win once we were 1-0 up. It's such a nice feeling. Last season we'd have needed to be 3 clear before I would accept we had a slight chance of winning.
We were dominant today and had more in the tank if needed.

Villa and Rotherham were a bit different, but usually I have total confidence that we'll win.On Tyne wrote:Did you think that at Villa?biggeordiedave wrote:This was another one where I was never in any doubt that we'd win once we were 1-0 up. Haha, Leeds are complaing at how much we spent? Sounds like they are just bitter that we spent our cash better than they did when they had some :p

I am! Can't see it selling out to be honest so should be fine. Tickets are pretty cheap too. You can buy them now if you've got previous booking history with Hull rather than wait till Wednesday too.Don Sholeone wrote:Are you still living in Hull, I'm hoping to grab a ticket on Wednesday when they go to general saleAcid Hippo wrote:And today's game continued my record of never seeing us lose live.
