TFI vs Stoke City

Post by Colback's Orange Tufts » Sat Sep 16, 2017 7:46 pm

Rate the players, leave a comment and they'll be collated for use in the TFI match report and database. The more people that leave ratings the better it will be. Please don't exaggerate player ratings, if you do it defeats the purpose of us collecting the data, so be as objective as possible. Clearly ridiculous ratings aren't included, so giving undeserved 1s or 10s won't skew ratings. Also, use the order I've posted.

Don't just submit blanket ratings like "1 for everyone", the point of this is to rate individual performances.

Rate in multiples of 0.5 up to a maximum of 10 (7, 7.5, 8, etc). Anything else will be rounded to the nearest .5 anyway.

Use this order. Please.

Elliot -
Yedlin -
Lascelles -
Clark -
Mbemba -

Merino -
Hayden -
Ritchie -
Pérez -
Atsu -
Joselu -

Diamé -
Shelvey -
Gayle -

Benitez
Use the order above.
10 - A godlike performance, such as getting a hat-trick of goals/assists or being utterly dominant at the back. This should be a rarity.
9 - Outstanding performance.
8 - Very good performance.
7 - Good performance.
6 - High average.
5.5 - Average average. Use this as the baseline.
5 - Low average.
4 - Poor, perhaps with the occasional bright moment.
3 - Very bad, several mistakes with little to no redemption.
2 - Horrendous, almost as bad as it is possible to perform.
1 - Among the worst performances of all time. This should be extremely rare.

So this TGI appears sporadically then. <disgrace>

Elliot - 7.5 Good saves, maybe could have kept out the goal though.
Yedlin - 8 Good game, surely needs to stay in the team.
Lascelles - 9 two in two!
Clark - 7.5 solid, didnt need to get booked.
Mbemba - 7 decent, i think he and Yeldin should be our wingbacks

Merino - 8 good game again, he looks good
Hayden - 6 poor, wasnt involved much, silly card. drop him
Ritchie - 8, he has a great cross from his left foot doesnt he!
Pérez - 7 he was good, gave away a silly foul near the end but was actually involved for once
Atsu - 8.5 good positioning and intelligence to get the goal.
Joselu -5 striker that cant strike a ball.....

Diamé - 6
Shelvey - 6
Gayle - NA

Benitez - 8 did good today. Tactics worked. Hard to make intelligent subs though when you dont have a bench worth mentioning.

Elliot - 8 Some good saves, did well
Yedlin - 8 Glad he's back, offers something at both ends of the pitch
Lascelles - 8 Another good performance
Clark - 8 Solid as usual
Mbemba - 8 Did well considering he's not a natural LB

Merino - 8 How on earth did we get him? Signing of the season so far.
Hayden - 7 Better then his recent performances, still getting himself caught too far up the pitch though.
Ritchie - 8 Excellent cross for Atsus goal.
Pérez - 8 Best he's played in ages, fantastic work rate but passing was sometimes off.
Atsu - 7 Good goal but was a little quite for most of the match, should have scored again but was too slow to get the shot away, no sure if it was a penalty.
Joselu - 4.5 Decided to show the Mitrovic hate club what missing a sitter looks like. Should have got at least two, probably three.

Diamé - He's s***.
Shelvey - 6 Didn't do much.
Gayle - 6 Did even less.

Benitez - 8 Great result against a good team.

Elliot - 8... solid, kept us in the game with some vital saves.
Yedlin - 8... so much better than Manquillo. Lightning quick, threatening going forward and worked his bollocks off tracking back.
Lascelles - 9... MOTM. Bossed the back and got the winning goal. Great leader.
Clark - 8... consistent. Solid.
Mbemba - 8... does not look out of place a LB at all. Has performed better than Dummett.

Merino - 6.5... not as good as past few games, but still a decent turn out.
Hayden - 5.5... form has dipped.
Ritchie - 8... did not stop. Ran his bollocks off. Great cross for Atsu's goal.
Pérez - 7... a lot better. Good on the ball, and harrassed the back three and made some decent tackles.
Atsu - 8... took his goal well, caused Stoke's defence problems all day. Won us a penalty that wasn't given.
Joselu - 5... bad day at the office. Got into the right positions, but should have put the ball in the back of the net. Especially his chance first thing second half.

Diamé - 5.5
Shelvey - 5.5
Gayle - 5.5

All three didn't do much when they came on.

Benitez - 8... spot on. Wish he'd stop bringing on Diame though <urgh>

Elliot - 8. Made 3 magnificent saves.
Yedlin - 7. Very good going forward. Backs off a bit too much when defending though.
Lascelles - 10. A truly spectacular performance for the second week in a row. Great goal and solid defensively. What a leader as well.
Clark - 7. Very good once again.
Mbemba - 8. Great performance, unlucky not to have an assist from that class ball to Joselu.

Merino - 8. Another great performance. What a signing he's going to be for only £6m.
Hayden - 7. Puts himself about. Did well again.
Ritchie - 10. Truly magnificent. Him and Perez work incredibly hard. The desire and commitment is great to see. Two more assists as well. Great delivery.
Pérez - 9. Him and Ritchie are the heartbeat of the team. They take it in turns to lead the high press and do it so well. His off the ball play is spectacular. He's handy on the ball as well. Great performance.
Atsu - 8. Took the goal well. Lively throughout. Should have had a pen.
Joselu -7. Did everything right but score.

Diamé - N/A. Not on long enough to make an impact.
Shelvey - 6. Did ok.
Gayle -6. Chased well.

Benitez - 9. Got everything spit on. Love to see the high press and extremely high workrate from the team. A real team spirit an togetherness as well. He's got these players set up well and wanting to fight for the shirt. Superb management.
