And you may find yourself
Living in a Hampshire flat
And you may find yourself
In another part of the world
And you may find yourself
Behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a mediocre club
With a mediocre squad
And you may ask yourself, well
How did I get here?

Re: Saints Sack Manager
Have a few Southampton fans, and they've been wanting him gone for good few months. Been to see them few times this season, with mate who's had a spare season ticket. From a neutral and that I've seen on TV I'm seeing safe football, but players with no confidence at all to get going and do something. That's shown by the fact they can't score for to save their lives.
You're looking and thinking 'aye, he's decent, he's decent' at so many players and wondering how they are so bad! Would still take half their squad over what we have. Stick most of those players in our side under Rafa, and I'd back them to make us better.
Mates weren't surprised that Peul was sacked, doings on a board level rather than league placing, but have been wanting Pellegrino gone for months now. Have said that losing you're best players each summer is one thing, and they accept that, but they've lost every strong character in the dressing room transfer window upon transfer window; and this is the results. Selling Fonte, then keep VDV on until January was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Totally makes sense. So similar to our situation. By time we Rafa arrived, over a period over 3/4 years, every key player or leader we had was eventually forced out of our club or sold off until we ended up with a squad of seemingly talented, yet characterless individuals.
Mark Hughes being named by most fans apparently, but pals I've spoken to both want Jokanovic from Fulham, which I recon would be decent shout for them.
One said de Boer is all but in there, and sited him being on BT on Saturday as him being lined up for another job Don't think that'd be a bad appointment mind, going to have fairer shot at things with the last 8 PL games than he got at Palace!!

Would Jokanovic swap a promotion push for a relegation scrap? Hughes is likely, Silva might be holding out for Everton in summer.

Don't think Jokanovic would leave. Think De Boer would do alright and keep them up

Southampton have done admirably with the amount of player and manager turnover they've had the past several years, but at some point it was going to catch up with them. Especially for a club that was perhaps overachieving due to having a very clear play style and club culture, it's hard to maintain that when constantly having to overhaul the coaching staff and squad.

Re: Saints Sack Manager
Apparently he is begin given a contract only till the end of the season, I imagine with some kind of extension should they stay up. Sort of the inverse with what we did with Rafa. Be interesting to see if he stays/they want him to stay should they go down if this is the case.Out of those avaliable he's probably the 'safe' choice. Silva looks like there is a manager in there somewhere, but not exactly a firefighter.
Also, obliquely related, there are reports that Pardew has a clause in his contract which guarantees him more money in a pay off should he be sacked mid season. Could explain why he's still in the position, doing a bang up job at that.
