Match thread FNF live - Leicester v NUFC
Leicester City (a)
The Magpies are in action on Friday night, when they face a Foxes side revitalised by the arrival of Brendan Rodgers.
It's an 8pm kick-off live on Sky Sports and all away section tickets have been sold.
NUFC: Sean Longstaff and Florian Lejeune are out.
LCFC: Aside from Daniel Amartey, the Foxes look like having a full squad to choose from, with Jamie Vardy, Jonny Evans and Marc Albrighton all training.
Harry Maguire meanwhile is available again after recently becoming a father.
Since the installation of Rodgers as manager, Leicester have won four of their five PL games, scoring 12 goals in the process.
Six of those came from Vardy, whose previous half dozen strikes had taken 13 games to amass.
Stats:
Magpies @ Foxes - Premier League era:
2017/18 won 2-1 Shelvey, Perez
2015/16 lost 0-1
2014/15 lost 0-3
2014/15 lost 0-1 (FAC)
2009/10 drew 0-0 (Ch)
2003/04 drew 1-1 Ambrose
2001/02 drew 0-0
2000/01 drew 1-1 Speed
1999/00 won 2-1 Shearer, Ferguson
1998/99 lost 0-2
1997/98 drew 0-0
1996/97 lost 0-2
1994/95 won 3-1 Cole, Beardsley, Elliott
1992/93 lost 1-2 O'Brien (Ch)
(At Filbert Street until 2001/02. At Walkers / King Power Stadium thereafter)
Referee: Chris Kavanagh - hardly a great omen for United, given that his previous three outings in charge of us this season were the away games at Southampton (drew 0-0), Chelsea (lost 1-2) and West Ham (lost 0-2).

A certain loss. But if Cardiff lose at Burnley then it doesn’t really matter.

Re: Match thread FNF live - Leicester v NUFC
Can see Leicester winning 3-1 to keep the Rogers Revolution going. They've been playing more free-flowing, attacking and adventurous football recently. The experience of Vardy, Schemichael and Morgan still there plus the impressive young british prospects in Chilwell, Maddison, Barnes and Gray. Tielmans in midfield looks like a player. Great vision, creativity and technique.
Vardy to score a pen & a poacher's goal. Brace.
Maddison to score a gem of a goal. Curler.
Miggy to score his first goal for the club. Consolation.

Yeah, Tielmans has looked excellent. Leicester will have serious competition to sign him in summer.

When was our last Friday night game
Re: Match thread FNF live - Leicester v NUFC
Did we have them in the Championship? Otherwise I can't think of any...
Re: Match thread FNF live - Leicester v NUFC
Same as last week but Manquillo gets a run out and Dummett in for Lejeune. Works for me.
Re: Match thread FNF live - Leicester v NUFC
Decent enough team, going to be a very tough game.

Their midfield will have too much for us.

Matt Ritchie needs to be dropped and then sold.

There's talk of a potential Ritchie plus cash deal for Ryan Fraser, which seems highly unlikely, but you may get your wish. We don't have anyone to play in that LWB position as it stands though. I know you're a fan of Dummett, and I like him too, in this formation he's better suited at LCB I think. Ritchie is a grafter and not much more, but I would say he's still one of our better players overall arguably.

Is Murphy in hiding again? Would have him on the bench over Atsu.

Re: Match thread FNF live - Leicester v NUFC
Agree with most of this. He's just so careless on the ball. My post was prompted by a pointless crossfield ball that went 15 yards behind Manquillo. It's a shame Kenedy is s**** otherwise he'd be a good LWB option.Emiliano Sala's Invincible Hair wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 7:05 pmThere's talk of a potential Ritchie plus cash deal for Ryan Fraser, which seems highly unlikely, but you may get your wish.
