I've had a nightmare. Booked a weeks holiday end of November and thanks to that week I'm missing Man City and Southampton, plus a doable away game at Bramall Lane.

Man U away and Sheffield Utd away will both be shown on Amazon Prime. I'm pretty excited to see how this works with Amazon and if they can wrestle it away from Sky and BT (and maybe Netflix can get in on the act). This whole 'no televises games on Saturday's at 3pm' is outdated.

There should be an option to buy a TV ST to your team, so you could for example get a Newcastle Pass and stream all of our games on Amazon or wherever rather than having a Sky/BT subscription and having to watch the games that they pick. I think that's the future and where the demand is.

Definitely be where the game is heading in a few years time. Not sure they'll ever legally show the 3pm games though. I like the idea of Amazon having a couple of games.

For the first time in Premier League history, the clubs will get a short mid-season break in February.

The break will be staggered over a two-week period. There will be only five matches on one weekend, with the other five games from that round taking place the following weekend, ensuring that each team gets one week off.
<notbad> It's a start I suppose.

Money spinning friendlies overseas those weekends then? Should have done it the same time as the Spanish "Winter break" to maximise those revenues...

Feb break is pointless. 20 club league, two cup competitions, any break just congests fixtures elsewhere or is a pointless week long one.

Getting married 21st of March, Villa at home so no worries there and it's FA Cup quarter final weekend and we will be well out of that <laugh>

Glad Sheff is midweek in December, got decent shot at a ticket.

No massive long tough runs but October doesn't look fun.

The reason for the non televised games at 3pm is to protect the attendances of the lower league clubs which is an absolute necessity

I know why the rule is in place, but I'd like to see it trialed to see if it did have a negative effect on attendances of lower league clubs. I think that most people who go to support clubs further down the pyramid would carry on, and they wouldn't choose sitting at home watching Everton v Burnley over watching the team they follow. Seems to me that there's just an assumption that attendances would be hit, I'd like to see if that was actually the case as it's pure speculation at the moment.

Not been here for a while! I can't even bear to go though the pain of reading through the takeover discussion.

A question for the experts here. How far in advance do they tend to announce what games are selected for TV? Eyeing up a well overdue visit to SJP for Man Utd (5th Oct) but I'm assuming that isn't going to be a 3pm Sat kickoff..
Joe Kinnear: "I think they've got some magnificent midfield players; Tiote, Ben Afri, Yohan Kebab, Sissoko are very solid."

If we're away on a Saturday I'll go and watch my local non league side, I'd maybe think twice if we were on TV.

I'd be very wary that a trial would just end up being "that's it, done" and be rolled out immediately.

Yeah, once they sell those tv rights domestically and see the money, they won't put that horse back in the stable.

It's a fair point, but I still like to see proof to back things up personally. Probably why I don't believe in God (any of them!)...
