Another day, another stripey Puma kit where they've put some effort into detailing...

Sponsor block over the stripes ruins it of course, but an actual collar, some effort on the cuffs and the pattern to the stripes.

I had seen people mentioning that it was basically the West Brom kit from this season, nufc.com have a comparison (admittedly using photoshop kit templates) that shows just how much this is the case. Only appreciable difference being black for their navy, their white shoulder bar thing is now black on ours (but a deeper black than the stripes), and that broken stripe detailing is lost from the sleeves.

Speaking of West Brom, it could be worse, we could have their new template:

Can never understand the appeal of looking like a barcode...

I'm not even much of a fan of the tops we had in the early 90s with the uneven stripes.

I don't think anyone liked the uneven stripes, remember my uncle having one though. West Brom have done a couple of odd stripe ones though, including that barcode look before.

I think it's tough for the designers too. When they do something none traditional (wide stripes, add blue, etc.) people complain why they have to mess with black and white stripes, and why we can't have something simple and tasteful. And then when it's basic and classic, people blame them for no creativity and reference kits they probably hated at release.

Which isn't to say I particularly like these, but with how much baggage Puma has accumulated from making our kits for the past decade, I get why they don't deserve the benefit of the doubt when they produce something basic.

Has anyone ever complained about the blue or gold trim? Some of our best kits have had them.

Looks like Milan are using the same template as us but with fancy bits on the shoulder and printing in the black stripes to resemble the roof of the Galleria.

Yeah that was decent back when baggier football shirts were the fashion.

I seem to recall the 2013-14 and 2015-16 kits (with blue trim) were relatively hated, but maybe it wasn't specifically because of the blue. Though I do seem to recall some fans specifically complaining that blue wasn't one of our colours (I actually thought it's complemented the blue in the crest fine).

I'd be interested to see if we ever go for red trims, or perhaps even a full red away kit. We've already got the red numbers and we've got previous with red kits; think the club originally played in red not long after their founding, plus I've feel like I've seen footage of red away kits during the Supermac era. Makes sense since red is in the city coat of arms.

Although I don't think it'd sit well with that fella who doesn't eat bacon...

I've heard rumours of a yellow away or 3rd kit for next season I'd love to see something similar to the below

Another personal favourite of mine would something like the below if we were to have a 3rd kit

Have also seen the below floating about which would be a nice little throwback to the 93/94/95 time frame

I'll Hazard a guess

I do like that last green and blue one.

It'll continue to be tough to follow up burgundy and navy hoops though - that combo is my all-time favourite recipe for any kit.

You can't do anything with black and white stripes.
