CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GUESSING GAME 2016-17

An Individual game for our forum (not directly related to any other forum although on a few others: in all, Reading, Blackpool, Peterborough, Newcastle & Watford). It’s the first time we’ve tried this one in this format, so have a go!!
Super super easy - choose three teams, any three teams, you think will do very well - well, hopefully the best - in the Champions League 2016 - 17. These will be YOUR teams to watch all season! You will get points awarded according to how far these teams of yours progress.


Only two simple rules :
1.. you can’t name more than any one team from one country - they have to be from three different countries
2.. you can’t name exactly the same three teams as anyone else on your forum ! So first to post their selection holds rights on that selection - no - one else can copy it afterwards !! So get in quick…

PICK THREE AS YOUR THREE TEAMS - just three teams from anywhere in those lists above (not one from every group)!!!


Points to be awarded for each team

Group stages - according to the final table of the group stages there will be forum points for the four finishing positions of the teams in each group:
5 points (the best team) // 4 - runner-up // 2 - third place // 1 - last in the group
(N.B. third places will not receive more points later in this forum game as they transfer to the Europa League, and fourth places obviously stop their participation altogether at this stage)

Round of 16 - for successful teams (winners) add TWO more points on to the score

Quarter-Finals - for winners add TWO more points on to the score

Semi-Finals - for winners add THREE more points on to the score

Final - the winner team adds THREE more points on to the score

Therefore if you predict the outright winner as one of your teams … who might that be? … you would be guaranteed a grand 15 points for starters - but you have to consider the additions of two other teams as well to get your final total!

ALL ENTRIES IN the day before the group stages kick off - so I need them by Monday 12th September 2016
