Sleater Kinney - Sleater Kinney

Given it quite a few listens now and it's solid. It's great to listen to on the move as well, they remind me of a more punk Sonic Youth which I really like. The Day I Went Away was my personal favourite from the album, quite enjoyable to play along to aswell! I can't really say it's an amazing album, because it isn't, but it's one I'm sure to listen to a lot <gent>

Go on then, i'll go for a swap! Although i'm struggling to think of an album to suggest.

Did you ever get round to listening to any more of the Talk Talk albums ... like Laughing Stock or The Colour of Spring?

Absolutely did, yeah. Talk Talk was easily the best recommendation I got on here <awe>, I count them among my favourite bands now.

I'll take a recommendation of anything that'll go nicely on a quiet night, if you can think of anything. Any particular style that you want or don't want?

Recommend the Skalps album to Skalps, see how he reviews himself :bandit:

Oh f*** ... just reminded me that I was going to get back to you about that. My memory is so bad these days!

This week I have mostly been listening to an old favourite of mine which I used to love and then have largely ignored for far too long. Skalps are you old enough to remember, or have heard, the Rattlesnakes album by Lloyd Cole and the Commotions?

If not then I would recommend that. :)

<laugh> Oddly enough I just finished rewatching the Theroux documentary about Alzheimer's , so this seems particularly understandable right now.

I've never heard it before, so I'll take that! How about the album "4" by Dungen for you? Are you able to find that online somewhere?

Here is a youtube link of Rattlesnakes (just in case). Note: the original album only goes up to track 10 "Are you ready to be heartbroken?" The rest are obviously newly added bonus tracks which may actually dilute the overall quality of the album. I wouldn't know I haven't heard them myself yet. :)

I haven't found the Dungen album yet, but still looking.

Cheers for digging the link out. Luckily though I have a Spotify account for moments just like this.

Yeah the only place I can find the Dungen album is on Spotify. Can you play in browser?

If not I can happily pick something else.

It seems I can only play if I sign up and i'm not sure what that entails at the moment.

I've been able to find the Tio Bitar album though. Shall I go with that one?

To be honest it sounds bugger all like "4", and it's not my favourite of theirs, but yeah why not give it a shot. It's by no means a bad album (I don't think they've made a bad album).

That sounds a bit like I'm saying it's s*** <laugh>. It's not s*** at all, I quite like it, so yeah go for Tio Bitar.

Ok, i'll give it a listen anyway. I've already listened to Fredag which was brilliant, so i've got an idea of what you are introducing me to and i'm going to seek out the (4) album anyway because I want to hear the rest of it.

So why not suggest another. Or is that too greedy? <laugh>

<laugh> Okay sure.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... iyW_I07lcz

Don't be put off by the band name <roll>.

There's one track missing from the playlist there, and it's a decent one but it's no huge loss. The top bananas are all there.
