It actually sounds like it's a pretty good movie.

Mostly very positive reviews.

I thought the ending could have been a bit better, all Blue and Rexy had to do was fist bump to send the cheese factor through the roof, I like the idea of putting Rex back at the top of the food chain, though would have liked to see it beat the hybrid properly rather than the big f***er jumping out the water

I went today and loved it. Just as good as the original.

Really?

Look I went in with low expectations and enjoyed it. The actors had to struggle to with bare characters (even Pratt did), the action was very well done. But the first one had real tension build up and interesting, fun characters (and a good villain).

On reflection I stil prefer the first one, but I do think this was quite close. I loved all the references back to the original. I guess there was a bit of nostalgia for me as I remember seeing the original one come out when I was 9/10.

I'd put that in my top 5 favourite films of all time.

I sometimes think I must be one of the only people in the western world with an interest in films who has never seen any of the Jurassic Park films all the way through. I've caught the odd 10/15 minute segments of the original on a couple of occasions but never the whole thing.

Don't feel like i've missed out on anything to be honest.

It was definitely ahead of its time when it was released, hence why it still looks fresh now.

Yeah probably too late to fully appreciate it now as a first time viewer.

Bit like Star Wars Ep. IV. I saw it at the cinema when it first came out, as a nine year old. Blew me away. But as time went on I started to dislike it, realising that whilst the effects were well ahead of their time and visually it was mint the plot was really weak. The sequels just rehashing the main plotline (there is a Death Star and we have to destroy it) just confirmed it. I've never really understood how it is so popular all these years later. Especially with kids who will have seen films with much better effects/visuals.

I think Jurassic Park and The Empire Strikes Back are both brilliant films. Great characters, great stories, great visuals. All of the other JP and SW films are a waste of time as far as I've seen though. And the trailer for Jurassic World doesn't inspire much in me either <scratch>.

Should have used zombie dinosaurs.

Would have been much better.

Was talking to the guys at work about how well the original JP has aged, the effects in that still beat some that you get in today's films.

There are not many classics you can look back on and really appreciate the production that went into it.

First of all, I hadn't seen any of the other movies before. I was too young too see the first one on a cinema screen, and later on it just didn't happen.

I almost fell asleep in the beginning, but enjoyed the movie in the end.

I quite liked the fight scene with the "real" dinosaurs starring T-Rex fighting the hybrid. Somehow I could've thought the water dinosaur was going to finish him. <laugh>

The raptors changed sides between Owen and the hybrid dinosaur and back too quickly in my opinion.
