Would have loved to have seen him win the title somehow mind, been a big fan of his since the ultimate fighter series 3.Ameobi's Apprentice wrote:English fighters lack the skills of foreign fighters. Silva would have beat him black and blue anyway like, but not the point.
Where does he go from here though, will he get another shot?

Re: MMA Thread
Bisping should, in my opinion, have another shot at Sonnen. He'll probably headline another uk fight card. Dana White thinks little of british fighters and british fight fans.Geordie Boot Boy! wrote:Would have loved to have seen him win the title somehow mind, been a big fan of his since the ultimate fighter series 3.Ameobi's Apprentice wrote:

Re: MMA Thread
UK UFC events are an absolute joke. A complete waste of money for some half arsed fight cards. I wish theyd stop just picking a brittish fighter and sticking him in the main event, assuming thats what ALL UK MMA fans want to see...

I remember when they came to Newcastle back in Jan 08, they actually put a good card on. Bj Penn v Joe Stevenson for the lightweight title ( Bloody as ) and Gonzaga v Werdum was the co main event.Nick wrote:UK UFC events are an absolute joke. UFC 95 in London was a good card to:
Koscheck vs. Paulo Thiago
Demian Maia vs. Chael Sonnen
Nate Marquardt vs. Wilson Gouveia
Dan Hardy vs. Rory Markham
Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson
Ever since then, they've got bad; even though were one of the sports biggest fan base.

Yeah, since then they've been naff.
I remember going to the Manchester one with Couture vs Vera. Had Pearson and Hardy fighting too.
What a shitfest that Vera/Couture fight was. Joke of a decision.
Its nothing compared to the Brazil, Canada, Dubai, Japan events.

Re: MMA Thread
I used to watch every single event from Pride and UFC. Even the odd Strikeforce, Dream, Cage Rage, K1 events.
But lately i've just given up and end up just folowing the news on mmafighting.com because im sick of being dissapointed over either:
a) Big main events getting ballsed up over constant injuries. Its nobodies fault of course, but it seems to have happened way too reguarly in the past coupel of years.
b) Rubbish boxing rules as far as decisions go. The judges are absolutely awful in MMA. It needs a complete overhaul at the minute. Takedowns and wet blanket tactics count for far too much.
I miss Pride FC too.

Overeem failed his pre-fight drugs test. Looks like 1 of the biggest fights of the year ain't happening.
Velasquez rematch?

Anyone watching tomorrow? Dos Santos v Mir should be good, would have been more excited if Overeem was still facing JDS.
