Re: The F1 Thread
I'm not sure, there was some quite good analysis on Sky. Hamilton had the inside line but didn't hit the apex of the corner, had he done that then there could have been space for both. I don't think Max squeezed him out of space and there wasn't any reason that he should have backed out of it and yielded IMO.
At the end of the day it was split second unfortunate timing that hurled Verstappen into the barrier. On another day the tyre walls make contact square on and Max gets nudged wide or into the run off area but can carry on. At 200mph it's easy for us to say things but it all happened in the blink of an eye. You could argue that neither Max or Lewis did anything wrong, ultimately Max got a much more severe 'punishment' (DNF) than Lewis and I think it was correct that Hamilton was reprimanded at least.

Mental race, absolutely wild
Re: The F1 Thread
Yes another convincing argument for reverse grids. Great to see Hamilton carve his way through the field, and unbelievable defensive driving from Alonso. And great to see a new winner!

Incredible safety again that they all walked away.
I do wonder if it’s only a matter of time until they modify Eau Rouge to slow it down, massive accidents there are quite often and of course there have been recent fatalities.

Shame they can’t get some sports cars or something to drive round for 20 mins and dry the racing line a bit

What a farce to award points for 2 laps behind a safety car.
