Anyone know an effective way to get players to want to enter into contract negotiations?

Ben Arfa has a year left on his contract so I need to give him a new deal or risk him signing a pre contract with someone else in January. He won't enter negotiations though. I tried a private chat where I warned of transfer listing him if he didn't sign a new deal, he said he wanted to stay at a the club and will sign a new deal however when I try to offer him a new contract his agent says that he doesn't want to enter negotiations with the club.

Do these games still come with a database editor?

Haven't played in a while but i quite fancy the idea of a Southampton season with all their young players they sold on!

Imagine hitting the opposition on the break with Walcott Bale and Oxlade <awe>

Just bought this, gutted to realise that you can't use edited databases on the classic mode, I had downloaded someones summer transfer updates in anticipation of it arriving!

To make it worse the 14.3 update FM sent out has took Cabaye off me for Luuk f****** de Jong! <grr>

Does anyone know if FM will release an update after this transfer window? So I can run it in classic?

No they don't do an official summer update, since that'd cannibalise FM15's sales. If you want to play with the squad we had at the start of the season, select 14.1 or 14.2 when starting a game (not sure which will be the right one). I'd guess the lack of custom databases in classic is to stop people circumventing their micro-transactions.
