Huddersfield still amongst it...

I don't follow them nearly closely enough really to know who we could potentially get from them. That Mounie started well didn't he? Bound to be better than Joselu. Wanted us to go in for Mooy last summer, would still take him now. I'm gunning for a completely bald midfield.

Forward Saido Berahino has started just 11 games since being signed from West Brom for £12m in January 2017 and has never scored for the club. He is now training with the under-23s, as is defender Kevin Wimmer, an £18m signing from Tottenham last summer.
Record signing Giannelli Imbula, a midfielder who cost £18.3m from Porto, has spent this season on loan at French side Toulouse.
Meanwhile, two former Barcelona forwards, Ibrahim Afellay and Bojan Krkic, have been frozen out at the Bet365 Stadium, with the latter spending this season on loan at La Liga side Alaves.
lotta s**** there, didnt know they were that riddled with dead wood

None from Stoke, we'll see who goes next.

Express linking us (and others) with Bertrand for £25m. Can't see it personally, too much for a LB who's in his late 20s now.

Anything over £10m is too much for us these daysBodacious Benny wrote:Express linking us (and others) with Bertrand for £25m. Can't see it personally, too much for a LB who's in his late 20s now.

Re: Players from (possibly) relegated teams
That is Southampton save now (baring an absolute goal fest by City), so scratch off any of their players from the potential targets from this thread.
West Brom officially relegated last night too.
Swansea play Stoke on the last day simply put they need to win if not they are going down. I think they may go tbh as I can Stoke actually putting up a decent game of it (more a clutch of players wanting to impress potential suitors).
Looking at that Swansea team Alfie Mawson would add to our defence but I'd imagine he'll be an expensive one perhaps 20m fee.
The Ayew brothers would be good signings I believe both have relatively low relegation release clauses in their contracts 8-10m so one of them could be an option but as far as I know French and German teams are interested in both of them so can see them headed to the Continent.

Didn't Swansea pay 18m+ for Andre Ayew in January? Trouble they were in I've no doubt his agent insisted on a relegation clause, but I'd be surprised if it would be for less than they paid. Like us with Townsend

Yeah something like that. I wouldn't mind Jordan Ayew tbh as a good squad player.CIH wrote:Didn't Swansea pay 18m+ for Andre Ayew in January? Mowson will go for a big fee so that rules us out.

Re: Players from (possibly) relegated teams
Aye it was 18m plus add ons they paid for him, but I believe that he has a low buyout clause for half of the fee which would be around the 9-10 m mark.
Of the two I agree I'd opt towards Jordan Ayew mostly due to him being younger.

Re: Players from (possibly) relegated teams
Jordan is more of an out and out striker as well isn't he? Andre more a wide forward. We need someone more centrally rather than on the wings, especially if we keep Kenedy for at least another season. Mawson would be expensive and probably go to a bigger club, only way I could see us having a serious interest is if we sold Lascelles for big money. Being linked to Dawson fromw ba as well for 15m+. Decent player, but no ta.

thought he was much older,
Jordan would be the more out and out CF all right can though fill in all over the forward line and is two footed

Re: Players from (possibly) relegated teams
Yeah I'd go in for Jordan Ayew with that price mooted. Although he has been relegated twice now, so might have a bit of the Leroy Fer effect about him.

Ki has left Swansea, he'd be a decent signing on a free.

Ki Sung-yong has left Swansea on a free transfer. 29 so not young, but I'd probably take a punt as backup. Send Hayden out on loan maybe.

Yeah I think on a free he'd be a good addition. Tidy player.

Dawson from west brom would be ok for the right price. West brom had a decent defence it was up front they were toothless.
Dawson is a big threat in the air as well and this is an area we are terrible. We put in some good crosses but we don't have much to aim for.
