Just did now, along with the other thing, yours is better imo.

Yanny/Laurel thing is easily explained. Spoilered for boring:

It's a recording of someone saying Laurel, and the weird voice saying "Yanny" is actually just the higher frequency resonance of the speaker saying Laurel. If your speaker is s*** on your phone/laptop/whatever, then you won't hear the mid and low frequencies at which the word Laurel was recorded, you'll only hear the higher frequency resonance (Yanny). If your speakers are good, then the mid-low frequencies will be heard loud and clear and your brain will filter out the resonance, thus you'll hear Laurel. If you can hear both it means you've either put the effort in to separate the two, or else you heard it on first go because you're a genius/god.

Brain storm thing is much more interesting because it has nothing to do with frequency. My guess is that its probably something to do with how ventriloquists get away with saying the wrong consonant sounds + a bunch of noise helping to muddy it up.

I could only hear green needle the first time I watched it no matter how much I said brain storm to myself. Now I can hear both depending on which word I'm thinking of prior to hearing it.

Haven't seen a decent explanation on how this is possible. I saw some mention the McGurk effect but that relates to visual triggers which I don't think really come into play here.

Nah there is more to it than that. I've heard both yanny and laurel from the same source on the same speakers, but at different times of today. There is no crossover when I hear them, and I can't flip between the two.
