Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)
Not seen anything specifically involving us, but just read that Angel Gomes wants to leave man u. PSG supposedly interested, so that might be already dead in the water. Year on his contract, so man u may cash in. Or sign him on a long term deal with the agreement to loan him out for first team football.
Still very young and raw, but could add depth to the Perez/Almiron role. Even with supposed interest from champions League clubs, I don't think a permanent transfer is unrealistic either.

Re rafa, the on the continent podcast (mailbag) talks about his rep in Europe. Apparently we'll known he's had a 6m quid release clause but he wants to stay close to family in Merseyside.
If it was only 6m I'm suprised West ham or liecester didn't go in for him

So West Brom staying in the championship.
I sincerely hope Charnley is on the phone to them this morning, firstly offering commiserations but more importantly negotiating a deal for Rondon

Pellegrini and Rodgers are hardly substandard. I was glad Leicester went in for big bren instead of waiting for the summer. Good project there which I think could've been a draw for Benitez.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 5:54 amRe rafa, the on the continent podcast (mailbag) talks about his rep in Europe. Yeah I agree, had the Leicester job been available in summer I think that Rafa would definitely have been on their radar and it would be an appealing project for him too.CIH wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 8:30 amPellegrini and Rodgers are hardly substandard. I see Daniel Sturridge is another who is out of contract.
I think he'd be another one who'd fall under the if he could stay fit and probably drop his wage demands I'd take.
I'd rate him over Danny Wellbeck who'd fall under the above bracket

Samaris has apparently signed a new deal with Benfica, so that's probably completely dead as a likely Hayden replacement. Hayden himself seems to be getting a lot of interest, with reportedly Spurs sniffing around as well.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)
So the window opens tonight, think this is what we need going forward
Outs: Joselu, Hayden, Diame, Clark, Kenedy,
That would leave 5 for 5 in terms of squad places, though only Hayden is going to bring funds into the club, add that to Gayle potential fee that could put us at 80m in terms of funds, 65m if we do a swap deal for Rondon.
Dubravka
Schar Lascelles Lejeune
New RWB --------------------------------------- New LWB
Longstaff ---------New CM
New Att Mid ---------------------- Almiron
New Striker
These are the positions we need to look at this year, note in this id be keeping Ritchie, Yedlin, Shelvey as squad players if possible and would have Rondon on a permanent, also keeping Perez to rotate around the Att Mid spots.Schar Lascelles Lejeune

Bit harsh on Perez, after the form he's had since Feb

Shelvey linked with West Ham
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

I'd feel differently if he could continue the form at the start of next season, but with so many really cold periods, mixed with occasional good form like this recent phase, I think it's fair to suggest there might be a more reliable option out there - with him still filling a few rotating attacking roles.

Not saying he should be a back up, I think it's no coincidence his form came in after the pressure on him was eased so another quality attacking mid that rotates around with both Almiron and Perez would probably benefit all parties.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)
I think that was part of it, but I also think our tactics were more attacking in the second half and Almiron is the type of attacking player we've been crying out for who can get on the ball a lot and influence play (a role Perez was always too passive for). Perez is definitely at his best when he can play off of other talented attacking players, which hopefully we'll have more of come next season.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 7:07 pmNot saying he should be a back up, I think it's no coincidence his form came in after the pressure on him was eased so another quality attacking mid that rotates around with both Almiron and Perez would probably benefit all parties.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)
We certainly need someone else who can play in that role, not necessarily to dethrone Perez, but for the three of them to rotate. Atsu is okay in small doses, and hopefully Muto can crack on and show a bit. Mason Mount, or Loftus-Cheek on loan be too unrealistic?Remember Colo wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 7:26 pmI think that was part of it, but I also think our tactics were more attacking in the second half and Almiron is the type of attacking player we've been crying out for who can get on the ball a lot and influence play (a role Perez was always too passive for). Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)
Loftus-Cheek would have been an amazing signing last summer but with Chelsea’s transfer ban and him having now worked his way into their first team and looking impressive there’s no chance now.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)
Yeah Loftus-Cheek is going nowhere. Can see Mount going out on loan again, would be a good signing I think.

Yeah Loftus Cheek was more a pipe dream. This absolutely marvelous playoff semi-final could scupper any chance of getting Mason Mount in. On loan or otherwise. You'd presume he'd go back Derby if they come up. Maybe even if they don't.

Counting on Longstaff to be good enough to be a starter next season is a bit presumptuous like (especially when you're saying Perez needs improved on)

Speaking of Loftus-Cheek, he played for Chelsea in a friendly and ruptured his achilles and will now miss the Europa Final, how stupid can Chelsea get
